Our group of staff and volunteers from the Irish, British, Netherlands and Belgian Red Cross Socetieis did the walking tour of Derry with RuairI on the 9th of November. Despite the fact that I made an error and booked for 09:00 and then thought it was for 10:00 (thus arriving an hour late!) Ruairí was incredibly gracious and accommodating. The tour itself was fantastic - I have been on other walking tours of Derry and I felt that this was the most engaging, knowledgable, humourous, accessible and balanced tour I've experienced. Ruairí is a fantastic guide who was able to really engage the entire group. We all learned a huge amount about Derry and its history and it has given all of us a much greater appreciation for the area and the people. We will definitely be booking this tour for future visiting groups!I would highly recommend a walking tour of the Derry City Walls. This was a really great tour I took during my study abroad trip. Our tour guide was very well informed, and also interested in forming a personal relationship with us, which made the trip feel very comfortable. He was more than willing to answer any of our questions, and also provided some great personal narratives that added to an understanding of the town’s history. He speaks and reads Gaelic, which was really cool, and speaks very clearly and audibly; he’s very easy to listen to.Absolutely superb tour led by Ruairí whom we never cease to book for this authentic experience. Engaging, responsive, interactive, personal, engaging. Highly recommended -5 star experience
