The first glimpse you’ll have of this beautiful lagoon when you get close to the coast from the hill amazing view.
The first place to visit in the Bacalar Lagoon is “Cenote Esmeralda”, where you’ll be amazed by the different shades of blue and understand why the Bacalar Lagoon is frequently referred as the 7 colors lagoon. Our next stop is “Cenote Cocalitos”, home of stromatolites, that are known as living stones and are considered the oldest form of life in the planet.

On Wednesdays live a special tour, enjoy the Cocalitos Beach Club where you will enjoy the fresh and crystal clear water of the Bacalar Lagoon, get to know the sanctuary of the stromatolites, picnic of snacks, fruits, beers and surprise drinks.

DO THIS TOUR!! I took my family of 5, with kids ages 9-18 and all of us enjoyed this tour. The drive to the lagoon was fun and full of laughter. The Tour guides stopped on the way and got us fresh coconuts, bananas, and honey pineapple. We were given snacks, water, beer, and “Mexican water” :) The water in the lagoon was fresh, clear, and absolutely stunning. The tour guides we’re knowledgeable about the different cenotes in the lagoon and took us to two different swimming locations. After the tour we stopped at a local restaurant and had the most AMAZING tacos! We loved this tour so much that we booked our second cruise, and will be doing this tour again but with 11 family members in March!! So fun.The whole experience was effortless and full of delight. The food and drinks were great, and the staff was super friendly and welcoming. Would recommend it for anyone visiting on a cruise.

Not sure who I spoke with via WhatsApp prior to booking but his quick responses, detailed explanations and customer service was outstanding! Reason I paid more than other quotes I received. Lorenzo, our tour guide was excellent & entertaining! Sula was a great driver. The lagoon is beautiful! Just wish we had more actually swimming time, 30min was very short compared to travel time. Staff took pictures and promptly sent to us, for no additional charge. Taco lunch was authentic & delicious. Fruit from the local, is some of the best pineapple & mango, I’ve had. Only regret is we didn’t get a picture at the Bacalar sign.We were picked up from the port that our cruise ship stopped in and taken to the bacalar lagoon. It was absolutely gorgeous and refreshing to swim in. Afterwards they took us to the best taco restaurant I’ve ever been to. Tino was a great guide! Very friendly and knowledgeable. Highly recommend!
