After 2 hours of travel, we will arrive at Estancia Torres del Paine, the starting point of our trek. After a previous talk from our guide, we will begin to walk along the path in the direction of an old bridge that crosses the Asencio River. After 1 hour of walking, we will arrive at Camping El Chileno, in the shade of a spectacular lenga forest, crossing several slopes that fall from Mount Almirante Nieto.
After a brief stop, we will continue our way to the next viewpoint, at an altitude of 700 m. From here, the path increases its slope. Half an hour later, we will reach the Las Torres Base at the eastern end of the lagoon, from where we will have a spectacular view of the three towers (Central, Monzino and Dagostini) and the Peineta and Nido de Cóndores hills, if cloudy conditions they allow it. Totalmente recomendable!!! Les recomiendo un el tour con Abi Torres! Guía que maneja super bien la historia del lugar, flora y fauna! Nunca se sentirán solos!!! Totally a success!! I highly recommend trekking guide Abi Torres, for amateurs and experienced trekkers!! She knows everything about the history, flora, fauna os Torres del Paine and you will never feel alone!I recommend this company for travelers looking for an intense Patagonian experience. The hike was challenging in the late winter season but rewarding. Vincenzo, our guide, spoke Spanish and English and was full of information on the local flora and fauna.

Vicenzo was very friendly and spoke English and Spanish. I was the only person not fluent in Spanish in the group but this was not a problem. He was very engaging the whole time. I went in August and was unsure how the winter conditions would be. However, he came prepared with spikes and poles and I had no trouble getting to and from the Base of Torres. I had a fantastic experience and recommend this guide to anyone wishing to hike to the Base. This tour was horrific — they first left us with an unlicensed driver that got turned away from the main entrance of the park, they then tried to sneak us in but everyone was uncomfortable with that so we made them turn around. This tour was horrific — they first left us with an unlicensed driver that got turned away from the main entrance of the park, they then tried to sneak us in but everyone was uncomfortable with that so we made them turn around. They then found another driver that had the right license but the tour guide never even told us that we could get on this other bus, one of the Spanish speaking members of our tour had to call us on WhatsApp to inform us they found someone new and the tour could proceed as planned, just a few hours delayed. The whole day, even with all the complications, they were rude and didn’t offer any communication or remorse. It would’ve been a wasted day because of their negligence and caused a 2 hr delay on our tour. Not to mention that this tour just legitimately sucks. It’s in the most cramped van ever, I’m not that tall and I couldn’t even sit properly in it, it was seriously seriously uncomfortable. Then, the entire hike the group split off into four groups and with only two tour guides (and only one that spoke english) that meant two groups were without a tour guide THE ENTIRE TIME!!! i think we exchanged maybe four words (“hola” when we passed them on the trail, and “where’s the van” when they came back) with the main guide Sofia throughout the whole 11 hour day. We legitimately barely saw her the entire day and she under no circumstance guided us. Didn’t tell us anything about the park. All this tour does is provide you with extremely uncomfortable, occasionally negligent transportation to the park for $150. Get on the Bus Sur busses and save yourself money and also guarantee that you can go and don’t have an unlicensed driver and a tour guide that doesn’t care about anyone on the tour and was quite frankly super rude when the complication with the driver first came to light (they didn’t even tell us about it, we had to rely on Spanish speakers in the car to translate what the police were saying). DO NOT BOOK WITH THEM! THEY ALSO NEVER BROUGHT US TO SEE THE CAVES. WASNT EVEN MENTIONED!I chose the private tour as I was staying in the park and this operator was able to pick up from the park whereas many standard companies cannot. I chose the private tour as I was staying in the park and this operator was able to pick up from the park whereas many standard companies cannot. Vincenzo was an incredible guide and I can't imagine you'd find anyone better! Not only could we hike at a great pace but he was so knowledgeable about the landscape, history of the park, and tips when hiking on the the longer W and O treks. Having a personal guide vs large groups hiking this trail is huge benefit as there are points where it is completely quiet and a chance to truly appreciate the viewpoints. Luis was our driver who was extremely professional while the guide was able to point out other landscapes around the park while we made our way into the park. The views from the top are unbeatable and this is a must do if visiting Torres!!
