What to expect
With the capacity to accommodate over 65, 000 spectators, the stadium is mostly used for football (soccer) matches, and has previously hosted the final match for Europe's premier club football tournament.
At the stadium you'll explore the executive seats, locker room, press conference room and the official store, where you'll be able to purchase authentic Benfica merchandise. One of the best parts of the tour is that opportunity to walk onto the great lawn, and get a first-hand look of what it's like to play on the field.
Visit: Museu Benfica - Cosme Damiao, Avenida Eusebio da Silva Ferreira Estadio do Sport Lisboa e Benfica, Lisbon 1500-313 Portugal
After exploring the stadium, you'll make your way toward the museum. Decked out with over 20, 000 documents, images and relics dedicated to the history of Benfica, the museum was recognized as the best Portuguese museum of 2014.

Believe me when I say I am not a complainer, this is my first ever time writing a review but I felt I had to. Myself and a group of friends did the tour (partly) last weekend. Firstly for context we had a boat trip organized at 12PM so we arrived at the stadium at 10:20 to take the "1 hour" tour to leave us enough time. Tours allegedly leave every 15minutes. Problem number 1, you buy tickets in a completely separate building, when we went to buy the tickets despite there being an abundance of staff it took them 15minutes and no other customers to print our tickets (I kid you not). Then we walked back to the tour entrance where there was a queue of around 10 people. it took this queue another 15minutes to pass because none of the incompetent staff where operating the barrier to let people in. Then the tour didn't start for another 10minutes. So we mentioned to the tour guide that the tour started late so we would need to leave early, could we go and see the pitch and really the only important things any football fans want to see but they ignored us. Around 30 minutes later when we realized the tour was going to take way to long we asked to have someone take us back to the entrance so we could leave having seen nothing that we wanted to. The female guide was very rude and made it seem like it was our fault that they had wasted 40minuts of our time. Stadium is cool, staff are truly dreadful.A great morning. I visited with my 11 year old son whilst on holiday in Lisbon. We both had a great time, the tour was very well structured and we then spent some time in the Museum which was interesting and interactive.

So, decided to do the Benfica Stadium tour for my son's birthday whilst on holiday in Lisbon. Not a good experience. Paid for our tickets and then had to wait 1 hour and 20 mins in blazing sun with no shade to get in. The tour itself was very poor. I've done a lot of European stadium tours with my football mad sons. In terms of content this was easily the worst. Normally the organisers have thought it through and the script for the tour is full of interesting facts about the stadium, its history and the club in general. Not this one - it was just boring. And once you've paid your money and waited in line they explain that you cant look at the home dressing room (too much of a security risk apparently!) and the pitch side dugouts are boarded up. But my biggest issue is the eagles that permanently live chained up next to the pitch. Seems like the only times they move is to fly about the stadium for the amusement of fans on match day - or to be taken to the club shop for photo opportunities with visitors (for a fee of course). Staggering that this is going on in a major city/club in 2023!
