I hiked with Thiago on a perfectly clear day. It was incredible. There are several lookout points with spectacular views, and Thiago took tons of pictures for me. He was very knowledgeable and told me all about Rio, pointing out landmarks and neighborhoods. It’s a rigorous hike up, including some limited rope use (Thiago brought all the gear) so you should be in decent shape. It was brilliant. Fabio was fantastic, explained everything and went above and beyond to help others who were trying to climb without the correct equipment. Fantastic day with a fantastic guide. Make sure you bring the correct equipment as recommended! I had trainers/sneakers and struggled in parts

I’m an avid hiker & generally adventurous person so I had pre-booked this hike for my first morning in RdJ. The rep from the company, Alexis, reached out via WhatsApp (offered different method of contact if I wasn’t comfortable on WhatsApp) as soon as I confirmed my booking and provided information for the hike down to minute details. They provide hotel pick up & drop off, which was amazing considering it was my first time in Brazil & I don’t speak Portuguese - I’m also a solo female traveller. Alexis also offered her assistance with any general questions I had about Rio and wanted to be sure I had the best time outside of this hike. I took her up on this and asked questions about the city, activities, recommendations, etc and she always replied promptly, never missing any qs (before and after the hike). She provided any final info for the hike the day before as well (exact pick up time (accurate) & guide info). The guide - Thiago - was the best guide I had from any tour I did this trip. I’m glad I waited to post my review after experiencing what other guides are like. Many tours will say guides are bilingual, however this isn’t exactly true. Many guides speak very basic English & cannot even translate what they are saying in Portuguese or Spanish relating to the tour I was on (even using google translate wasn’t helpful). Thiago speaks perfect English; he is personable & knowledgeable about Rio and surrounding areas. Thiago recommended other hikes and activities (not commonly listed on google), which I actually ended up doing - I even took a surfing lesson with him! The hike was basically a private tour - it was myself & another girl + Thiago. The timeframe for the day was perfect - we weren’t rushed to climb up, we spent time at viewpoints taking cool photos, we stopped at a waterfall on the way down and spent some time in the water. There is a portion of true rock climbing - Thiago had the appropriate gear, explained steps clearly before he let us go ahead; I’m afraid of heights but felt perfectly safe going up and down the steep climb. Thiago ensured we took photos from all sides at the top (it’s a 360 view .. sooooo worth it) and patiently took photos again if we asked. I usually prefer to figure things out on my own, however for this hike I would recommend using a guide - you get more than what you pay for with this company because experiences are more than just money. I had so much fun, learned a lot & made new friends!Awesome views!! The guide told us in advance this was a challenging hike and it sure was. Awesome views!! The guide told us in advance this was a challenging hike and it sure was. Thiago was our tour guide and spoke very well English, he also told us many tips and places to see on the drive there. Took about 2 1/2 hours to get to the top and a little over 2 hours to get back down. Portion of the tour includes rock climbing which is the hardest part but it’s not impossible and the guide had all the equipment. I wouldn’t recommend carrying a bunch of stuff so you can hike easier. they also sell water and drinks at the top so don’t worry too much about carrying a lot of water. Hard hike but definitely work the views. Thiago also took a bunch of nice photos of us, highly recommend him.
