We had never been on a private tour before and this was our first full day in Georgia so we were a little bit apprehensive. Our guide Niniko, and her driver picked us up at the hotel and immediately put us at our ease. By the time we left Tbilisi we were chatting like old friends. Niniko talked knowledgeably about the various amazing sites we visited and interlaced the chat with insights into Georgian culture, history, and society. We thoroughly enjoyed getting to know both Niniko and Kakheti. This was our last guided tour of our visit to Georgia. This was our last guided tour of our visit to Georgia. We were picked up on time by Irakli who honestly gave us our best tour with a few unexpected stops that were truly memorable. Irakli was friendly, fluent, knowledgeable, passionate about his work and great company during the drive, sharing many facts and stories. If you are a fan of photography, take the option of passing through Rustavi- an old industrial town which offers unique photo opportunities. We reached the David Gareja Monastery early and before the influx of tourists (wear non-slip shoes as there’s a short uphill walk to see ‘David’s tears’ the sacred water reservoir. After that, we drove to Signagi for a wine tasting experience, which was enjoyable and reasonable in price. Our highlight of the whole tour, was having lunch at a farmer’s home and making bread! Not for everyone, but if you are open to new experiences off the beaten track, then you’ll love it! Make sure you purchase Churchkhela during this tour, as it is where it originates from. Thank you Irakli for a wonderful time! The communication with Real Georgia prior to the trip was fast and easy. This was an incredible trip that could not have been more wonderful. Our guide Levan and driver Mamouka were warm, funny and knowledgeable about everywhere we went. Levan has a deep understanding of the history of Georgia and provided great insight to the places we visited. Even though Mamouka didn't speak English, he understood it and would add jokes or stories to our conversation; my dad and I were laughing the entire trip. We stopped along the way to Signaghi for roadside sheshuli and homemade bread and cheese. Levan and Mamouka knew the merchants and we were given private tastings of the homemade sauces, wine, cognac and cha cha. This made the tour so much more personal, as we really got to experience Georgian hospitality. We felt like we spent the whole day with lifelong friends. I can not recommend this tour enough. The sites we saw were gorgeous. Our guide was amazing. His English was great and he explained everything very well. There were some fun unexpected surprises along the way. This was a fabulous fabulous tour.
