This tour allows you to see Uluṟu close up, including the protected side which is a revelation. Full training and safety wear is provided. Our group took about 10 mins to become acquainted and confident. Then it is an enjoyable trip around the rock stopping here and there at places of interest, like rock formations with special significance and beautiful waterholes and indigenous rock art. The flora also changes as you round the rock. Daniel our guide enriched the experience with useful training, safety guidance, indigenous stories and geological information. Loved it! Highly recommended.Oh my - absolutely so much fun!!! I have done this tour a couple of times, and love love love it. Great way to see Uluru. As a first time rider I was a bit nervous but the segway was easy to ride and the instruction by Kyle and Nick easy to follow. Kyle was so knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the history and culture. Would definitely recommend this tour. As a fit healthy 65 year old I thought the 55 year old recommended age a little unnecessary! Was a little nervous for this tour as wasn’t sure how easy it would be on the segways. But they were a lot easier then I thought and highly recommend it to everyone. Was an amazing way to go around uluru

I thought the Segway was more challenging than I thought it would be. It was my first time using one. I’m 43 and very active for reference. They give you plenty of practice before you go on a challenging course. The actual route you travel on is not that challenging. But, I felt like I was more focused on the route vs engaging with the beautiful scenery. They say they don’t get too many falls but my husband fell off and my son caught himself from a fall. My husband’s Segway tires hit a rock that was on the edge of the route/road and my son’s tires hit another Segway’s tire. You have be careful! Plus, you are standing a lot with only a few sit down rest breaks. Also, my mother booked the tour who is 73 and ended up not doing it due to safety concerns. It says if you are over 65 they don’t recommend but it also says if you can ride a bike then they do recommend. My mother is a very active 73 and bikes regularly. I’m glad she did not do it after practicing and also after we had two mishaps from our family members. Luckily my husband only had scratches however learned that recently a lady broke her leg. I think they should make this tour with electric bikes vs Segway’s so you can sit and enjoy your scenery. Also, the flies were so bad! We purchased a net that protects your face from them which I highly recommend you do if you do this tour. Our guide was fabulous and very knowledgeable. The picnic at the end was yummy!Brilliant! loved this base ride experience. It was easy and fun. Hubby and I both 'grey nomads' and had no trouble mastering the Segway. Brilliant! loved this base ride experience. It was easy and fun. Hubby and I both 'grey nomads' and had no trouble mastering the Segway. Ma was a wonderful, knowledgeable guide and she was so kind and patient with us all. Ma is an asset indeed to the company. Thanks to Nick also. Pick up from the campground was easy, though I did have to call into the Tourist Info office to find out where we were supposed to be at the allotted hour and what time would the tour finish. Unsure what we needed to bring too. This info probably able to be found somewhere online - but I missed it. The little dilly bags issued to carry water and phones were helpful. Better than lugging the backpack around! All in all, an absolute highlight of our trip so far! Highly recommended A+++
