Stop At: Vung Tau Beach, Vung Tau Vietnam
Vung Tau has four known beaches—Front Beach, Back Beach, Pineapple Beach, and Paradise Beach. Front Beach (Bãi Trước) is the most popular, which for many others is enough reason to stay away. In addition to the crowds, the water is rather polluted and doesn’t offer the best beach setup. However, you can still enjoy some fresh seafood at the many stalls and restaurants that have set up shop—they serve some of the most delicious seafood in the south of Vietnam.
For a better beach experience, head to any of the other three. Back Beach (Bãi Sau) is much less dirty, and perfect for surfing. As the beach gets some wonderful wind swells, kitesurfing shops have appeared over the years, offering rentals and classes for all levels.

Stop At: Christ The King Statue, Mount Nho, Vung Tau Vietnam
Statue of Christ the King is an unforgettable Vung Tau day tours. You can see the statue of Christ the King, one of the important symbols of Vung Tau, from all directions in the city. The arms are 18 m wide, 32 m high, two meters higher than the Redemptories statue in Rio de Janeiro.

Stop At: White Palace, 6 Tran Phu Ward 1, Vung Tau 790000 Vietnam
Bach Dinh, or the White Palace of Vung Tau City is located at 4 Tran Phu Street, on the slop of Big Mountain. Standing 50 meter above the sea level, White Palace has its French name which is La Villa Blanche. Tracing back to the year of 1898, it was considered as a summer holiday villa of French Governor General Paul Doumer. This palace was named after his lovely daughter. Unfortunately, while the structure was being built, Doumer had to come back to France and became the President of France later. It was not until 1916 that it was officially used for holiday resting of some Indochina-French Governors. Once visiting the White Palace, you will be attracted by its all white appearance, which is the reason why people here call it “Bach Dinh” (“Bach” means white color in Vietnamese).

Stop At: Thich Ca Phat Dai, Tran Phu Street, Ward 5, Vung Tau Vietnam
Thich Ca Phat Dai (Platform of Shakyamuni Buddha) is a notable Theravada Buddhist temple in the coastal city of Vung Tau in southern Vietnam. It lies to the northwest of the Lớn mountain and was built between 1961 and 1963 when it was opened.
It is set on a plot of around five hectares, with a Zen Buddhist monastery at the foot of the plot and the Thích Ca Phật Đài at the top. The Zen monastery is a small brick temple built by a government official from Vung Tau in 1957. In 1961, the Buddhist association organised for a renovation of the monastery and decided to build the Thich Ca Phat Dai further up the mountain. Additional lodgings were built to cater to Buddhist pilgrims who come and visit the site.

Stop At: The Whale Temple, Hoang Hoa Tham, Thang Tam Ward Inside Dinh Than Thang Tam area, Vung Tau Vietnam
Lying on the right of the Thang Tam’s Holy Temple, the Whale Tomb was built at the same time as the Temple of the Five Eliments at the end of the 19th century. The Tomb presently displays a huge skeleton of a whale collected by the local fishermen over a hundred years ago .
In the story about the whale, it was rumoured that in the mid 19th century, there was a very big head of a whale drifting onto the Tam Duong Beach. The whale head was so big that local villagers had to fence it with bamboo sticks and waited several days for the whale flesh to become rotten enough to leave the bones. Then they carried the bones to the temple and people have worshipped until today. Over recent years, more whale bones have been collected and preserved at the temple.

Jordan our guide messaged beforehand with meeting point details and it all went very smoothly. Jordan was a pleasure to spend the day with. We visited all the sights listed on the itinerary and had a wonderful Vietnamese lunch at a local restaurant. We returned to the ship with plenty of time to spare before departure. A truly stress free day , much better than being in a large group on a ship tour.We really had a fantastic day with our guide Jordan who was delightful company and very knowledgeable. We really had a fantastic day with our guide Jordan who was delightful company and very knowledgeable. We had clear communication by e mail and WhatsApp regarding pick up times and location from Phu My port. We chose the Vung Tau excursion as we have visited Saigon on previous occasions. We were very happy with our choice as it is only a 30 minute drive from the port. We visited a local temple, the golden buddha and monastery, the White Palace and climbed the 800+ steps to the statue of Christ. The highlight for us was a delicious lunch in a local restaurant included in our tour. We let Jordan choose the food and it was all fresh and tasty. We returned to our ship very happy and felt we had a glimpse of local Vietnamese seaside life. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this tour if you want a more relaxed day than spending hours on a bus to HCMC. Request Jordan to be your guide if possible. On behalf of the group, I would like to thank Viator for the arrangement. We feel it is value for money with a good guide, lunch and refreshments included. The itinerary was well planned and the group enjoyed the excursion. Thank you.

The tour was customizable and enriching. Our tour guide provided information along the way as the four of us rode in air confirmed comfortable multi-passenger vehicle. The long drive to Vung Tau was broken up with a welcomed rest stop, the pho was tasty and inexpensive. The museum has a map display of the province. The town is an attraction for the local people with white sand beaches and calm swimming areas. The Christ statue requires climbing over 800 stairs steps.
