Overview
Price starting at $165 per person for party of 6, $195 per person for 5, $225 per person for 4, $385 per person for 2. This is a 8 hour private charter excursion by local driver guide using full size SUV. This is unique way of visiting one of the most scenic areas in the U.S. The driver guide will stop at places you wish to enjoy in Santa Cruz, Monterey, Big Sur, Bixby Bridge, River Inn, Pfeiffer state park of Coastal Redwoods, Nepenthe, McWay Falls and many other places. This is a private trip not a group tour. For the return trip, the driver guide will drop customers off at the Salinas Amtrak station for the Coast Starlight train at about 6:00 p.m. reaching San Jose Diridon station in an hour a half OR *OPTION for round trip by SUV is also available.

Stop At: Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park, Pfeiffer Big Sur Rd, Big Sur, CA 93920
1) From San Jose - Total time 8 hours. Driver guide will pick you up at San Jose Diridon Station at about 9:30 a.m. Driving through Silicon Valley and The Redwoods you reach the coast at Santa Cruz. Along Highway 1 you go through Aptos, Capitola, and agricultural area to Elkhorn Slough and Moss Beach. Soon you are in Castroville driving through miles of artichoke and strawberry fields. Along the coast you see sand dunes on the west and Salinas Valley with the coastal mountain range to the east. Salinas River empties into Monterey Bay. Past California State University of Monterey in what used to be Fort Ord through Marina and Seaside you reach Monterey and Carmel by 11:30.
Continue on Highway One through Point Lobos, Garrapata and Rocky Point to Bixby Bridge.

Further south you can wander in the Redwoods, have lunch at The River Inn or at Nepenthe or ask the driver to take you to any special place you want to see. By about 3:30 you return to Monterey. Time permitting you can take an alternate drive through 17 Mile Drive and see Pebble Beach.

This iconic single span concrete bridge built during 1940s is seen in many movies and commercials. You stop at both ends for views and taking photos.

Ben at California Pacific Tours was informative and super responsive as he helped plan our trip via phone, text and email. Ben and my family mapped out a rough itinerary in advance for our family group of 6. The day of our tour, Carlos picked us up at our vacation rental in Watsonville. We knew in general terms what we were hoping to see, but we asked Carlos for his recommendations as the tour progressed. Carlos incorporated Point Lobos at our specific request, and then gave us an overview of upcoming areas of interest. We could pick and choose our stops as the day progressed. Carlos knew things like the ease or difficulty of trails, what we should look for on the trails, approximate price range in shops and restaurants, and even where the cleanest bathrooms are. Carlos suggested stops at several places we would have missed had we driven the route on our own (McWay Falls and Pfeiffer Beach among others). All of the stops we made were well worth experiencing. With my mom being a senior, we needed to know what to expect as far as walking to and from view sites. Some view sites require no walking, but where there are trails, Carlos told us in advance what to expect so we could decide. Most times we were dropped off at the door or trail entrance, which made things nice. We consider this tour a top highlight of our Monterey trip. Highly recommend to other travelers. Excellent experience worth the price. Having a private driver to tour my friend and I around was perfect because we didn't have worry about parking or getting tired about the drive back home, he took care of it! The driver was great at sharing a little history along the driving route as well best...
Excellent experience worth the price. Having a private driver to tour my friend and I around was perfect because we didn't have worry about parking or getting tired about the drive back home, he took care of it! The driver was great at sharing a little history along the driving route as well best places to take a quick walk and get the best pictures. My friend and I never felt rushed and really got to enjoy everything from fried artichokes for breakfast to taking a nice trail walk through the forest to relaxing in the cold River/Creek water. Encourage folks to pack swim attire or water shoes to take advantage of the stops where there is water. There's some extra bonuses to this tour like stopping at the mission and in Carmel by the seaPatricia_E

Perfect way to tour this beautiful Carmel-Big Sur area! Carlos was very kind and did an amazing job driving and taking us to all the beautiful places along the coast! We got soo many awesome pictures! The best part was seeing relaxing and enjoying the scenery and not having to drive!!
