Both our skipper and our guide were highly professional. We arrived back in Picton a very happy party not only for the wildlife we had seen but also for the biscuits hot drinks and wine served on the return journey. Our skipper was super with his description, info about the sound , knowing where the birds and sea animals would be and coordination with our bird wishes. It was an excellent use of our time and great fun.

We went on the birdwatching tour, with a drop-off on Blumine Island to see the Orange-fronted Parakeet. We had about 90 minutes on the island, while the rest of the party went on to Motuara. It was absolutely idyllic, and a sighting of the Parakeet was the icing on the cake. On the return journey, we encountered a very playful pod of Hector’s dolphins - an amazing experience that we will always remember.E-Ko Tours did not have representation at the visitor center. E-Ko Tours did not have representation at the visitor center. A tour person at the visitor center told us where their store was located. Checked in at the store and they told us to come back at 1:15 pm, which we did. They had information boards on the whales, dolphins and birds we might expect to see. They had other tours besides the one we signed up for. The boat we went out on did not have sufficient seating for the number of people they took on the tour. Four of us had to sit outside on the rear of the approx. 20 foot boat. We did see dusky dolphins and several water and forest birds plus seals. We could either climb to the top of Motuara Island with the guide or take a boat ride to Captain Cook monument. The guide and the boat captain were both informative and knowledgeable of the local wildlife. Our tour lasted four hours and was very enjoyable.Super excursion. On a eu tout notre temps pour observer les dauphins qui étaient au rendez-vous à deux reprises. Un grand merci à Joséphine qui est une guide bien renseignée et qui nous a transmis sa passion pour la faune et la flore de cette belle région. A faire absolument.
