This is a typical itinerary for this product
Stop At: Rasnov Citadel: Garden and Panoramic View, Rasnov 505400 Romania
Please note: when you book online the extension of Peles Castle, we visit this site first, than Bran Castle and Rasnov Fortress!
Explore two of Transylvania’s most impressive citadels and discover why the region is steeped in mysterious lore. Your professional guide will pick you up in central Braşov in a car or minivan for the 30-minute ride south to Râșnov, situated among the stunning Bucegi Mountains.
Learn about the storied history of Râșnov Fortress, a walled stone compound designed to ward off attacks by the fierce Tartars and used as a refuge for local villagers during medieval warfare. Explore the time-worn courtyards, ramparts and well of the 13th-century fortress built by the Teutons. Opt to have lunch in Râșnov if you like (own expense).
Duration: 1 hour
Stop At: Bran Castle (Dracula's Castle), Str. General Traian Mosoiu nr. 24, Bran 507025 Romania
A short drive brings you to Bran Castle, nicknamed ‘Dracula’s Castle’ for its ties to Bram Stoker’s 1897 Gothic tale and its bloodthirsty villain. The high stone walls and red turrets of this hilltop citadel come into view as you approach the secluded castle, set among the dramatic backdrop of the Carpathians. Enter if you dare, after paying the site fee (own expense), and wander through the castle’s many well-preserved rooms and chambers with your guide. Gothic furnishings and details help set the scene for ghastly legends of all that happened here, including the imprisonment of Vlad the Impaler.
This 15th-century prince was notorious for his bloodthirsty campaigns against invading Turks and is said to have inspired Stoker’s malevolent Count Dracula.
Duration: 1 hour
Stop At: Peles Castle, Str. Pelesului 2, Sinaia 106100 Romania
If you’re thirsty for more, extend your tour by 3 to 4 hours and continue on to the nearby Peleș Castle (book in advance, online, the option). The expansive, Bavarian-style Peleș Castle was built among a lush forest to house Romania’s royalty in the 19th century and is among the most beautiful in Europe.
A guide will lead you through many of its immaculate, ornate rooms, still adorned with luxuriant furnishings and décor. You’ll also have the chance to tour the neighbouring Pelișor Castle, a smaller royal residence decked out in art nouveau finery.

Superb excursion in the heart of Transylvania. Accompanied by Charlie a passionate guide I discovered the castle of Peles and Bran as well as the fortress. I could take advantage of a good address of the guide to have lunch in front of the castle of Bran. I highly recommend this excursion.

I booked this tour and added on the optional Peles Castle visit (honestly this is a must). Charlie was incredibly knowledgeable, humorous and exceptionally good at hosting. We were also fortunate enough to visit Sinaia Monastery as we were early. I really enjoyed myself and highly recommend this tour and Charlie if you’re in Braşov and thinking about visiting these 3 major spots. My only regret is not budgeting enough time for a separate tour to Sighişoara (also run by this team). We were fortunate to book our tour, last minute, and pleasantly surprised to be picked up near our hotel in a spacious, pristine van. We were fortunate to book our tour, last minute, and pleasantly surprised to be picked up near our hotel in a spacious, pristine van. Leaving Brasov, it wasn't long before our guide, "Charlie" (Balazs Karoly) impressed us all with his historical knowledge (he is a native of the area), his humor and his candor (in excellent English). By the time he finished Peles Castle (first of the day), we relaxed and were very happy when we learned he was also our guide for the next day to Sighisoara. A great two days!We had a great day with Dan. He was a wealth of information. Peles Castle was beautiful. We had a great day with Dan. He was a wealth of information. Peles Castle was beautiful. I kept on reminding myself Bran Castle was never Dracula's Castle but how it had been refurbished was interesting. Too bad Rasov Fortress was under renovation preventing us from entering it but again Dan gave us a great history lesson about the fortress. I would recommend this tour to anyone interested in learning about the sites as well as the history of Brasov's buildings and life before and after communism.Really enjoyed this tour with my super friendly guide Tiberius! It was extremely informative, learnt a lot about the castles but also about history, life and the local culture. Tiberius is a walking encyclopaedia, with many stories and life experience!
