Braveheart (Battle of Stirling Bridge) Tour
Overview
It has always amazed me the number of tourists that had never heard of Wallace's greatest victory at Stirling Bridge (It wasn't in Braveheart). Walk in the footsteps of William Wallace and young Andrew De Moray and relive the Battle on the site where it took place. We shall discuss the build-up, the main characters involved in the battle as well as present-day initiatives aiming to commemorate the importance of the Battle of Stirling Bridge.
We also do a tour of Bannockburn Battlefield, the scene of Robert the Bruce’s greatest victory.
Freedom Tour Today is the perfect way for Molly & me to welcome visitors to the area and learn more about why so many people hold these historic sites and Scotland dear to their hearts. Thank you.

I'd been a student in Stirling twenty years ago but never learned much of the city's history. Stevie has a passionate interest in Scotland, from old times to the present day, and has done a lot of reading about the battle and its wider context. He gives you the big picture of northern European politics in the 13th century, and shows how the protagonists converged to slaughter each other where the River Forth meanders past the foot of Stirling Castle. His lovely dog Molly is great with kids whose attention wanders.Beautiful area to listen to Steven share his great knowledge on the battle and surroundings. Would recommend this tour.

How can you come to Stirling and not visit the site where the Battle Of Stirling Bridge took place? Forget Braveheart, that's Hollywood, this is the real McCoy. Steven was fantastic; knowledgeable, interesting & passionate about his subject. This was my personal highlight after a whistle stop tour of Scotland having been living down south for so many years. It was fantastic and a privilege to see my family taking it all in, I know I took more from this than they did, but I'm biased. My only disappointment was to hear how low the figures were to actually take time out and find out about this battle, after all, in my opinion, this is where it most likely started. Why came to Stirling and not? Thanks again must go to Steven a true Guardian and a definite pleasure to meet.
