Pass By: St. James's Park, Horse Guards Road The Storeyard, London SW1A 2BJ England
Your regal tour begins at the Duke of York Column, located on St. James’, where you’ll greet your guide and embark on a walking tour of London’s royal monuments.
During the stroll to your first site, your guide provides history-rich commentary that offers insight into the British monarchy’s illustrious reign. Stop at St. James’ Palace, which has played host to iconic royals including Princess Diana and Anne Boleyn, before you continue into St. James’ Park — a green lung formerly home to the Royal Zoo.
Stroll down The Mall, designed to represent a giant red carpet leading to Buckingham Palace, and pass by the home of Princes Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall, Clarence House.
Stop At: Buckingham Palace, Spur Road, London SW1A 1AA England
Then, approach the gates of Buckingham Palace, arguably the world’s most famous royal residence. Open for only two months a year, the opportunity to visit the State Apartments is a rare and exciting experience.
With an audio guide to direct your exploration, you’ll delve into the lavish chambers of the British Monarchy: marvel at the opulent décor and admire rooms swathed in sumptuous upholstery, chandeliers, and priceless art. See, too, important pieces from the royal collection such as Sèvres porcelain and some of the finest English and French furniture in the world.

We watched the changing of the guards among the packed mall with very little/poor input from the guide. Lacked detail, content and interest. Much too expensive for the price we paid

I'm glad we went with this tour instead of just the Buckingham Palace entrance. Our tour guide Robert was incredibly knowledgeable. He gave a humorous overview of English history while pointing out important landmarks as we walked for 30 mins between the Duke of York column and Buckingham Palace. Then he helped us all get into Buckingham Palace where we did the standard walking tour with audio guide like everyone else. It was mid September on a Friday and the lines were practically non-existent. We had a good time.We really just booked this to get tickets last minute to see the state apartments while they were open in August. We really just booked this to get tickets last minute to see the state apartments while they were open in August. The 30min walking tour before was good and Richard was an engaging guide. We got into the palace really quickly and easily through the group entrance as we were part of a tour. Once inside, we were able to wonder at our own pace and soak it up. Tea afterwards in the garden was good too.The walking tour was very informative. We walked down tha Mall, and our guide talked about the different places along it. She allowed time for us to stop and take photos. The palace was amazing. It says no backpacks, but they allow small ones like day packs in.

A very interesting couple of hours with an informative guide for the first 45min and then a walk around the palace. Absolutely worth doing if only for the skip the line entry! The palace is of course grand and worth seeing. Very busy however due to the short opening season and the toilets and cafe leave you in no doubt your are indeed not royal, but certainly worth doing.
