My wife and I are retired and we both love to travel. We decided to try the Cape Cod Caper, presented by Alley Kat Adventures, as a new way to explore. We signed up in advance for our desired date and time. Alley Kat was very good about communicating, and we soon had a text message chain established. (There was no in-person contact.) We were required to sign a waver agreeing to accept full responsibility for our own safety. I assume that’s because there is driving involved. We went to the starting location and sent them our team name and a selfie, to prove that we were actually there. The goal of a scavenger hunt is to travel from place to place, completing various tasks along the way. For example, we went to a store and took a photo of a specific item. We texted the photo to our representative Melanie, and she confirmed that she’d received it. That added to our score. The challenges took creativity and cooperation. For example, we did a video “commercial” for the daily special at a coffee cafe. We interviewed a local resident about her memories of a particular store which is now closed. We even had to find some wildlife in a public park. (I was thinking of a squirrel, but it turned out to be a noisy crow.) Throughout this process, we found ourselves getting better and better at working together. We looked forward to each new experience, we had fun, and we saw a lot of the Cape Cod area that we wouldn’t have seen by just driving around. We found out that Alley Kat Adventures is available in 200 cities, so we definitely plan to try another one — maybe even to discover things about our own hometown! I recommend that you go with a larger team than two people. Four might be the perfect number. Each person could have a different role, such as navigator, driver, photographer, and creative director. We also found our GPS to be extremely helpful. Thank you, Kat and Melanie, for an unforgettable day.Thank you for a great time. Favorite: talking to the artist Purchased: Bought a beautiful flattened glass piece Did not know: anything... first time visitors Seriously! Great!
Thank you for a great time. Favorite: talking to the artist Purchased: Bought a beautiful flattened glass piece Did not know: anything... first time visitors Seriously! Great! We had a bit of trouble with the phone (most likely user error), but overall we had so much fun! Taking pictures with locals and finding things we never would have seen otherwise! Great time to get the family walking, laughing and not on their devices all day!

My boyfriend and I had a blast doing this scavenger hunt together!! Our host was very nice and was very good about providing us directions and encouraging us. We could walk to most of the locations in Hyannis, and there was only one place we had to drive to. It took us about 3 hours to complete all the tasks, and in addition there are some included optional "dares" that you can complete to add to the fun!! Overall it was a great experience and especially good for when the weather in the cape isn't great for the beach!!This was a fun way to explore Hyannis. Some of the places were closed unfortunately but that did not interfere with the adventure. We were able to walk about and act crazy at times. This was a fun way to explore Hyannis. Some of the places were closed unfortunately but that did not interfere with the adventure. We were able to walk about and act crazy at times. Having contact with Katie all through our adventure was fun. I don't know how anyone can accomplish this in only a hours, it took us longer and we were not able to do everything. I recommend this to anyone in the cities where these tours are available. We decided to try this out on our girls trip and we are glad we did. It was a lot of fun. We learned a little about the city and met some people who were very happy to help us with our hunt!
