What to expect
You will ride high up into the mountains, then down & cross the river over to the Cardrona Hotel for a drink, then back home along the river, many chances for trotting & cantering on this ride so please be sure to specify your horse riding ability upon booking! (Please not we do not "JUST WALK" on this ride, you must be comfortable with this)
**This ride is not recommended for small children, please see "The Gold Discovery Trail" suitable for young families

We totally LOVED our guided horse ride! Our horses were very well behaved. Our guide Laura was super friendly, professional and informative. We felt very safe the whole time while walking, trotting or cantering. The scenery was spectacular! We thoroughly recommend this exhilarating experience!

Morgan (my horse for the ride) was very experienced and professional and Kelly gave a great crash course on what to do and not to do to have a successful trip. Would do it again.

Wow! My two kids (20 & 13) and I (50s) had an amazing time being guided by Kelly on Lou, Pat and Danny on the horse High Country Pub Trail. We are (were?) all total beginners, and all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. It was a blue-bird day, and the trail was a great mix of uphill, flat and downhill. Kelly was excellent at getting us up to speed with the horses, who were all very gentle. It was also nice hearing about the local history, and the stop at the pub just adds to the experience. We went back after the ride for an excellent meal too. Highly recommend Kelly's outfit for horse trekking!This horse trek exceeded our expectations, and is the best we have ever done. We were 2 adults and a 12 yr old. All beginners. The horses and our guide Kelly were fantastic. We loved the terrain, views, and opportunity to trot and canter. Highly recommended.
