I embarked on a journey to Algeria in the winter of February 2020, something I’d been thinking about for over 2 years. It was a remarkable visit, and it was all made possible thanks to the expert tourist guidance I received from Algerian Maze. They stood out as a unique company because they offered a customised tour to suit my particular interests. They assisted with the tourist invitation, organised all the locations I wished to visit, arranged the hotel accommodation and met me at the airport when I arrived in Algiers. I will never forget the first moment of meeting them (Nehad and Abdelbasset). Very trustworthy, friendly and amazing people. They made everything positive and it was a pleasure to be with them each day. They took care of all the arrangements for food, daily travelling, meeting friends and exploring the wonders of their beautiful country. I was impressed by Nehad’s cultural, architectural and historic knowledge, especially when we visited the Roman Ruins of Tipaza, Tiddis, (and also in the Casbah of Algiers where there are many incredible sights to behold). Nehad is a very experienced and intelligent guide, so you’ll be sure to learn a lot about Algeria with her. Our journey continued to Kabylia, which is a very special place to me for musical reasons and the natural environment is also magnificent in this region. I play a musical instrument called a mandole (YouTube: Project Coast Mandole) and my supporting travel guide named Abdelbasset, made special arrangements in helping me find a particular mandole for sale when we returned to Algiers. He also arranged a special meal for us at a traditional home in Constantine, prepared by a local family, which was a truly authentic experience. The friendliness and generosity of Algerians is wonderful. I should also mention that the natural views from Constantine are breathtaking. It’s the perfect place to watch the sun go down in the west behind the verdant and mountainous landscape. Our journey ended back in Algiers, overlooking the Mediterranean Sea from Sablette D’Alger while I played some music on my newly acquired mandole. In all, Algerian Maze made my dreams a reality. I certainly look forward to future travels with them, and I recommend them to others who are interested in visiting Algeria. Best wishes.Nehad was an outstanding guide, taking us to the most interesting places in the Casbah. She was knowledgeable, prompt and highly informative. Nehad was an outstanding guide, taking us to the most interesting places in the Casbah. She was knowledgeable, prompt and highly informative. She altered the tour to cater to our specific interests and nothing was too much trouble. I can’t imagine a better guide to the Casbah, especially if you are interested in the film ‘The Battle of Algiers’. The tour was even better than we hoped for. I can recommend Nehad, her brother Ahmed, and her tour company Algerian Maze, unconditionally - the highlight of our visit to Algeria. On A passez une tres longue journée a la casbah , c'etait incroyable est j'espère y retourné !! , je salut Nihad la Guide qui nous a parfaitement expliqué le tout , avec tout notre groupe .!

Nehad was responsive on WhatsApp and met us at the exact spot at place des martyrs. Nehad offered a free walking tour or an option that included entrance fees to museums and lunch at a traditional house. We chose this package for convenience and it did not disappoint. She was knowledgeable about Algerian and world history and guided us purposefully through the narrow streets of the Algiers Casbah. We stopped at several little artisan shops along the way and chatted with the artists. Nehad seems quite well known in the Casbah and she chatted with children and adults who came upon us during the tour. Everyone was quite friendly and wanted to engage with us. We felt warmly welcome and Nehad provided translation. She was full of nice surprises including a stop for tea and a visit to a local artisan with a rooftop patio for stunning city views! We eventually reached a private house with a tiled courtyard for a nice salad lunch, chicken with Rechta noodles, and miscellaneous honeyed sweets. When she realized we didn’t have afternoon plans she offered to extend our tour at no extra charge. We continued for the next few hours through the streets accompanied by her brother Ahmed. We learned more about Algeria from Ahmed and visited several places tourists do not typically visit. It was delightful. We had a great day with plenty of history, cultural education, and exercise! It was a great experience to go to The Casbah in Algiers.
