Welcome to the very first food tour launched in Catania! Enjoy our food experts in an intense 3-hr walk around the benches of Pescheria fish market and its backstreets. On this tour, you will sample the best daily selection of street food and have some cheerful toast in places hung out by locals. We select places based on the quality and authenticity of the recipe! You will try the best baked cipollina in Catania! Your local guide will unveil the secrets of Sicilian cuisine sharing historical info and recipes. In the colorful market, We will show you what you wouldn't notice on your own. You will also have the chance to enter a secret lava tunnel situated downtown but unknown among the tourist mass. This is a small-group food experience designed for passionate foodies and curious travelers. You will have the chance to interact with your Sicilian guide anytime you want.

Agata was a wonderful guide as we walked around the markets and sampled wonderful food and learned Sicilian history. A definite “must do” when in Catania. Agata paid special attention to a food allergy.

We love the business model that Streaty uses for these tours. They believe you can't understand Italian culture without understanding the food. So they pair you up with knowledgeable local guides who are passionate about good food and sharing their culture. As their owner put it: their "work" is drinking, eating, and making friends in their beloved city. Our experience with Agata was absolutely fantastic. She led us to experience the best food Catania offers while trying things we would not have known about. All the while, she engaged in a friendly discourse about Catania and Sicily that opened our eyes to their rich heritage. The afternoon flew by and we ended up happy with full bellies and new friends. We're looking forward to our return trip to Sicily and will seek out Streaty tours in their other Italian cities during our future travels!
