As foodies, we were seeking an authentic experience of the Italian Market and Philadelphia’s Italian-American food culture. We are so grateful we chose Jacquie over some of her more cookie-cutter competitors, as she delivered just that. Jacquie was informed and personable; she introduced us to many of the market’s incredible sites, smells, and flavors. She shared stories of her life between Philadelphia and Bologna, Italy, and tales of her immigrant ancestors. A former chef, Jacquie enjoys lifelong friendships with some of the restauranteurs and shopkeepers she introduced us to. We felt almost like locals as we chatted with these generous folks about olive oil, cheeses, and more. Jacquie offers an authentic and unforgettable journey through the Italian Market. The tour was great. It showed you some fine examples of shops in the Italian Market also know as Nine Street. The shops visited were interesting and fun to visit. The samples from the shops were very good. If you want to spend a fun time seeing the market with friends I would say go on this tour. Jacquie the tour guide was very good. She had much information to share and she was fun. This is not your typical history type tour. This is FUN. So put on your walking shoes, grab some friends, and have a fun day, I am sure you will do as we did go back to some of the shops we visited for a longer shopping experience and purchase some very good food.Chef Jackie was terrific and we had a great experience. We sampled lots of yummy treats and bought some too.

The taste of Italian market food tour was AMAZING! My boyfriend and I learned so much from our tour guide Jackie. She had so many fun stories to go along with the history of the area in Philly…and the food of course! You will not leave this tour hungry. All of the food is wonderful, but shockingly our favorite place was the taproom where you can taste all of the different oils and vinegars. They are explosive flavors you have never had before! I have already told several friends about the tour and how Jackie makes you really feel like vibe of the area and I can’t wait to visit her again!
