Stop At: Chobe River
Chobe boat cruises are a fantastic way to experience the best of Botswana.
You can get up close to large herds of abundant animals in the Chobe National Park. They tend to make their way to the river and onto the islands in the river to feast on the sweet grass. Puku and lechwe antelopes are standard on the Chobe floodplains.
Here, there is the highest concentration of elephants globally, and herds of elephants frequently cross the Chobe River. Hippos and crocodiles like to bask in the sun next to the water. You can also see buffalo and giraffes and other plains game. Lucky visitors might see leopards and lions! Furthermore, there are over 460 bird species in the park.
Duration: 3 hours
Stop At: Chobe National Park, Chobe National Park, North-West District
Chobe game drives are the number one way to experience the Kasane and the Chobe National Park.
We have custom built 4×4 safari vehicles. They have open sides which promise exceptional views of the wildlife for the guests. Professional safari guides lead the game drives in the Chobe Park. Their experience and knowledge provide great insight into the animals’ whereabouts and their behavior.
We can’t guarantee specific sightings, but elephants are almost a given, as Chobe has the highest concentration of these fascinating giants in the world! Buffalo, zebra, hyena, giraffe, red lechwe, hippo and crocodiles are often spotted.
The bird life is amazing in Chobe with over 460 species of birds.
If you’re lucky you can see the big cats like lions and leopards. There are cheetahs too, but they’re very elusive and favor the Linyanti region of the park.

Morning started with a smooth pick up by Collins at our Livingstone Hotel, driven to the Kasane border post where we were handed over to our Botswana driver who escorted us through migration. Our tour departed from the Chobe Marina Lodge (where we also enjoyed lunch). We started with the boat cruise that allows you get up really close to the animals on the shore (saw hippos, elephants, impala, crocodile). Following lunch we took a safari viewing vehicle into the Chobe National Park for more game viewing. At the end of the day, we are driven back to the Botswana border where Collins met us and drove us back to Livingstone. Chobe game reserve is well worth visiting and this tour makes the experience effortless. It is highly recommended. Neil
