Left us stranded at top of Askla viewpoint in the rain and wind. When "bus that will be here in 20 minutes" finally arrived after 40 minutes, no one got off, so no seats! What a joke. Don't waste your time or money. They lie about their times for busses.

We arrived on a cruise ship and did not want to spend a lot of money on a land tour this day. So, we took the local HOHO bus instead, and it was a great option on our own. Much cheaper and just as good!

Couldn’t see out of it very well, certainly no point taking photos through it. Not quite the idea of ‘sightseeing’. Queried this and was informed 3 buses were running that day, of which only one had glass windows upstairs. The second had plastic but at least it wasn’t scuffed. Luckily the third bus we got on had glass windows. Commentary itself was interesting. Convenient pick up and drop off at cruise port.Overall the Alesund City Sightseeing HOHO bus was a good deal and I would book it again. Overall the Alesund City Sightseeing HOHO bus was a good deal and I would book it again. Note that if you are getting on at the cruise terminal, you need to go to the kiosk BEFORE you go to the bus to get the paper QR code receipt. Also, the City Sightseeing bus stop is to the left of the cruise terminal. The very similar, but not the same bus for Alesund Sightseeing is to the right. The bus went to the the lookout point and had various other stops that I appreciated, including the shopping area and the Alesund church. The intervals between buses were a little long but worked out okay. I gave up on the narration, it was very hard to hear. Buses were reasonably clean and were driven safely. The bus was frightening for me. There are a lot of pin turns and traffic coming the other way ,or your business can't get through, not enough room. You feel like you are on the edge, I couldn't believe the sharp turns and how scary it was for me, I am afraid of heights.

We caught the bus to the Aksla viewpoint, took all of our photos and another bus hadn’t arrived so walked down the mountain, waited at the next bus stop, still no bus so shopped a bit and walked back to the cruise terminal. After lunch we walked back into town, then out to the church, didn’t ever see a bus driving around in the distance! So we paid 810 krone for a 15 min drive up the mountain, I wouldn’t recommend this, the buses seem to disappear after the initial tour
