Caught at the crossroads by advancing Soviet armor during the withdrawal, the Battalion hastily set up defensive positions destroying an estimated 100 tanks at the cost of 8 officers, 163 killed, over two-thirds of the battalion wounded, and all guns lost.

The tour to the Seelow Heights is worth seeing and I would recommend to the guests of Berlin to include it into travel program. The historical aspects of WWII are complex and sometimes hard to apprehend, but Matthew, is a very knowledgeable guide with a great personal interest in this field of history, uncovers hidden details while perfectly giving overview of the past events. Any weather would accompany the story, but I was lucky to admire the beautiful Brandenburg area under the sun. All promises of the travel program have been met thanks to the well-organized guide. It was a great day with the new impressions and unexpected discoveries of what, I thought, I have already known.Matt really knows his stuff and was very punctual and organized. Everything was perfect and very interesting. We also stopped at an authentic german place for lunch with great food. Highly recommended!
