This was a great trip, and a good deal as far as packages go. The hanging bridge park is beautiful - well maintained trails and bridges made of sturdy construction. The guide is very good at spotting animals and pointing them out (we had a couple loud 10- and 11-year-olds in our group that probably did a good job of scaring off some of them). We got as close to a coati as you could get (could have touched it if we had wanted to), and saw all kinds of hummingbirds, "turkeys" (guans?), spider monkeys, and sloths. Afterwards they took us on the rafting portion of the trip, which was a Class II-III (with the first hour being serious Class III action). That was a lot of fun, and the guides were knowledgeable and entertaining. We had a delicious snack of watermelon and Costa Rican pineapple (which is amazing stuff - much tastier than any Hawaiian pineapple I've ever had) during the trip, and in some calm regions saw some HUGE iguanas hanging out in the trees (again - never would have seen them without the guide pointing them out). Next was lunch at a plantation. They had a great Costa Rican traditional meal, served with a mild coffee (not a huge coffee drinker, but this was pretty decent). Then they give you a sugar cane demonstration (and a shot of some liquor made from it that will put hair on your chest). Finally, they drop you off at the hotel again, some 11 hours after your journey began. It was a great value for an entire day of entertainment!Beautiful Tour. We had a guided tour through the rain forest and the tour guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. Bridges never felt unsafe at all. This is a lot of walking but goes by fairly quickly. Beautiful Tour. We had a guided tour through the rain forest and the tour guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. Bridges never felt unsafe at all. This is a lot of walking but goes by fairly quickly. Definitely listen to them and pack your rain jacket even if you don’t think you need one. Weather changed quite quickly and although I didn’t mind walking around like I just jumped in a river. As I enjoy taking it all in...It did get a little breezy towards the end and had it been at the beginning of my tour it could have been ...not so fun :)Our guide Axel made this a very memorable special experience. Lots of fun and very engaging. Highest praise for a great day out woth our kids. Great day out woth bonus lunch and cultural experience included after the rafting. Excellent!
