Day 1: Arrive in Casablanca - Welcome to Morocco
Stop At: Casablanca, Casablanca, Casablanca-Settat
Your guided tour of Morocco starts from Casablanca International Airport (Mohamed V). You will be picked up by one of our expert tour guides (drivers) and driven to your hotel. If you arrive in the morning and are not tired, you will enjoy a visit to the seaside Hassan II mosque; the world's third-largest mosque and has the tallest minaret in the world (210m high). It is one of the fewest mosques that non-Muslims are allowed to enter.
In the evening, you have the option to enjoy dinner at Rick's Cafe which was designed to recreate the bar made famous by Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman in the classic movie, Casablanca. It is one of the best restaurants in the city.

Day 2: Rabat - Riff Mountains - Chefchaouen
Stop At: THE BLUE PEARL | CHEFCHAOUEN, Place Otahamam, Chefchaouen 91000 Morocco
Today, we will leave Casablanca and travel to Rabat, the political capital of Morocco. Here, you will visit the Royal Palace, the Hassan Tower which is Rabat's most famous landmark. It was built by Sultan Yacoub El-Mansour who died before it was finished. He intended a 60m-tall minaret, but the tower was abandoned at 44 m. Otherwise, it would have been the second largest mosque of its time, after Samarra in Iraq. We will also visit the marble Mausoleum of Mohamed V; built in traditional Moroccan style. Its decoration gives off an air of tranquility.
After a break for lunch in a local restaurant, we will continue our journey crossing through the Riff mountains, enjoying its beautiful landscape and countryside until reaching Chefchaouen, the " Blue Pearl" of the North. Overnight in your riad.

Day 3: Explore Chefchaouen with a Local Guide

After breakfast, we will start exploring Chefchaouen. This beautiful city is unique from other Moroccan cities. The city was once occupied by Spain which strongly influenced its Spanish and Moorish architecture; its white washed walls, blue doors and windows are only part of its allure. Day 4: Volubilis - Meknes - Fes
Stop At: Fes, Fes, Fes-Meknes
After breakfast, we will head towards the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis. You will spend the morning exploring the 2000-year-old ruins with its beautiful Mosaics dating back to 3rd century BC. Lunch will be taken in Meknes, one of Morocco’s Imperial cities.
After lunch, your guide will take you on a tour around the highlights of Meknes including the magnificent Bab Mansour gate, the grandest of all Moroccan imperial getaways. The gate is well preserved with lavish Zellij and inscriptions across the top. It was completed by Sultan Moulay Ismail (the founder of Meknes) in 1732.
You will then have time to explore the heart of Meknes Medina; Pl el-Hedim, the large square facing Bab El-mansour; Originally used for royal announcements and public executions, it's a great place to set and watch the world go by - kids playing football, hawkers selling miracle cures, and promenading families. Day 5: Explore Fes with a Local Guide

Today, our local guide will take us on a walking tour around Fes; the spiritual capital and the oldest city of Morocco. Most of our guided tour will be within the Medina with its narrow alleys and traditional markets (souks); our guide will ensure we discover sites with cultural and historical interest You will be able to visit the most important palaces, the jewish quarters, the Madrassa (old school and university from the 13th century) and the coranic school. Furthermore, you will visit the authentic handicraft of Fes and its tannery, work of leathers. It is possible to buy fantastic leather products very cheaply and near the origin of production, where ancient methods are still used

Day 6: Ifrane - Azrou - Middle Atlas - Ziz Valley - Merzouga Desert
Stop At: Sáhara Desert merzouga, Merzouga 52202, Morocco
Leave Fes and journey South of Morocco towards the majestic Sahara desert. Today, we will enjoy beautiful views of the middle Atlas mountains and its beautiful Berber villages. Our first stop will be at Ifrane town: built in the 1930s by French Colonization. It is tidy and modern, it feels more like Switzerland with its red-roofed houses, blooming flower beds and beautiful parks, all kept impeccably tidy.
We will journey deep through the middle Atlas mountains to Azrou; a Berber town with magnificent views of cedar and pine forests. Here, you will be able to see and hand-feed Barbary Macaque Monkeys living in Cedar Forest, the largest forest in Morocco. Lunch will be taken in a local restaurant in Midelt (the Apple city).
We will then continue along the lush Ziz Valley. Arriving in Merzouga at the end of the day, you’ll be welcomed with a glass of mint tea before you check into your riad. It is located on the edge of the Erg Chebbi dunes, the highest dunes in Morocco.

Day 7: Merzouga Dunes Tour, Camel Trekking and Sahara Desert Camping.
Stop At: Erg Chebbi Dunes, Morocco
We will explore the beauty of Moroccan Sahara desert with its golden sand dunes of Erg Chebbi shape-shifting over 28km from North to South and reaching heights of 160m. Your driver will take you around these dunes, passing by old, muddy Berber villages and stopping for panoramic views along the way. Visit a nomad family living in a tent in the middle of the desert and enjoy a glass of mint tea with them as you listen to your guide talking about their nomadic lifestyle. You will visit the Gnawa people, originally slaves, brought from Sudan and Mali, to experience their spiritual music and lifestyle.
After lunch in a Berber pizza restaurant, you will head back to your hotel to relax or enjoy a swim before you ride camels and venture into the beautiful Erg Chebbi, enjoying wonderful views of the sunset over the dunes. Day 8: Driving to Dades Valley via Rissani and Todra Gorge.
Stop At: Todgha Gorge, Tinerhir 45824 Morocco
Wake up in the early morning and climb the dunes to watch the beautiful sunrise of the Sahara desert. After breakfast in the camp, we will leave the Sahara and drive towards Dades Valley. Our first stop will be Rissani, where the Alaouite dynasty was founded - the current ruling royal family in Morocco. You will visit its traditional souk located in the city center that splits into several sectors: dates, vegetables, spices, animals, cloth and craft. After that, we will continue our journey passing by green palmeries and Berber villages to the 984 feet (300 m) deep Todra Gorge. We will have time to explore the gorge and relax in the cool water of the amazing Todra River.
After a break for lunch, we will head west towards the Dades Valley to see majestic sand castles and the amazing rock formations known as "monkey toes". Overnight accommodation will be in your hotel overlooking the green, lush Dades valley

Day 9: Rose Valley - Ouarzazate - Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah - High Atlas - Marrakech

After breakfast in the hotel, we will travel to Marrakech via Kalaat Mgouna and Ouarzazat taking the route of the thousand Kasbahs. In Kalaat Mgouna, "the Rose City", you have the option to stop and purchase rose products such as the rosewater, rose perfume, lotion, or any other locally made products.
Then, we journey through remote Berber villages until we reach Ouarzazate - “the Hollywood of Africa” with its beautiful landscapes that attracted many world class movie producers. You have the option to visit the Atlas Studios.
After that, we will drive 15 miles to the UNISCO Heritage Site of Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah which was built during the beginning of the 18th Century by a Berber chieftains, T-hami El Glaoui. Today, the Kasbah is a UNESCO world heritage site.
You will have a break for lunch before we continue our travels to Marrakech via the 7, 415ft high Tizi-n-tichka Pass in the Atlas mountains. Arriving at your accommodation in Marrakech around 4-5 pm.

This was the trip of a lifetime for our family. The personal attention we received to make our trip special was unparalleled. Our guide, Idris, and our driver, Ibrahim, accommodated our request to visit the fossil areas, took us to a pharmacy when we had some tummy problems, and always had water for us. All of our accommodations were beautiful and clean. The van was spotless. The highlight of the trip was the camel ride to our overnight campsite in the desert. The camp was spectacular and the food was some of the best of our trip. There was plenty of time for shopping and our guides helped with bartering.. which was fun. We felt safe in their care. Thank you to Atlas Desert Tours. We absolutely loved our vacation and we’re welcomed like family.AmirCoincidence

Visiting Morocco for the first time turned out to be the trip of a lifetime. It was going to be more than a regular trip given our family history so expectations were already high. The Atlas Desert Tour owners we interacted with (Said & Hassan) connected us with a very special guide, Mubarak, and Driver, Ahmed, who managed to exceed our expectations by a long shot with their professionalism. My wife and I had a fantastic 11-day trip that included Casablanca, Rabat, Chefchaouen, Fez, Merzouga Sahara Desert, Dades Valley, Marrakech, and much more along the the way! Our experience working with Atlas Desert Tours was excellent from start to finish. They gave us flexibility to customize our itinerary before and during the trip and most importantly our driver Hassan was a fantastic companion and guide. He was friendly, accommodating, and helped us make the most out of our trip. We even took his advice to spend a bit more time in the desert near where he is from and getting to learn more about his hometown was a highlight of the trip. This is a great company with great people so don't think twice about trusting them to handle your trip. My father (87) and mother (80) always had Morocco on their bucket list. Due to their age and health issues, my brother and I were invited to tag along. I have to say, I was more than hesitant to travel to a country, I naively knew nothing about and had envisioned something completely different. We were big oversea travelers growing up but once we got older it became difficult to coordinate family trips. So this trip was 20+ years in the making. I wanted to share a day by day account of our trip but then realized, how boring for you to read. So I’ll stick with the highlights of the country, the tour guide company and it’s employees. The fact that I wanted to share every detail of every day, is a testament to EXACTLY how ALL of us from our group felt upon returning home. This was a once in a lifetime trip. From the moment we were picked up from the airport, our next ten days were planned for us. We didn’t need to think of anything except taking in ALL the fascinating history, gorgeous topography and remarkable people of Morocco. Before we left for our trip my father communicated with Said (Atlas Desert tours owner) what was important and a must see, for us to on our trip. Saids planning did not disappoint. My family truly didn’t know what to expect of the country and it’s people. So let me tell you about the Berber community. As a whole, I know it’s not nice to generalize an entire group of people but in this case, it’s so accurate. Quite honestly, the Berber community are some of the most remarkable people we’ve ever encountered. We did not stop one place where we weren’t graciously welcomed and treated with the utmost kindness and respect. Both our tour guides were born and raised in Morocco and both Berber. Ibrahim, our official driver was unforgettable. Before I tell you about what an amazing human he is let me tell you about his driving. My father and I could win metals for our ridiculous need for control. So having a complete stranger drive us around a foreign country with small tight roads, Mountain terrain and weather was sure too be hell for my father and I. WE NEVER FELT SAFER. His attention to the road and other on it was such a breath of fresh air. We were BOTH able to relax in the back and take in all the scenic beauty. We never felt in danger or unsafe. The consensus in the family on Ibrahim, he is the kindest soul we’ve ever met. His smile, positive attitude, sense of humor, generosity and kindness were infectious. He’s one in a million. So what are the odds of encountering another, one in a million on this trip. Look no further than Idris!! At the end of the trip, I was ready to adopt him as one of my own! As a tour guide, he’s BRILLIANT. Idris is so, so very knowledgeable not only on the history of Morocco, the history of all the Kings reigns and the Berber people but his knowledge and also desire to learn of others cultures and way, was impressive. Also, I was worried about a language barrier, there was NONE. Idris had spent many years studying and perfecting his English and it was spot on. Side note; after spending 10 days with my family, his knowledge of American sarcasm and slang are also now on point, you are welcome😁. Idris and Ibrahim did not miss a beat. If we said we craved something, before we knew it, we had it. If we were in need of ANYTHING, we sometimes not even need ask, somehow they knew. They were so in tune with us. They were so extremely attentive to all of our needs and then some. Our subsequent tour guides, in all but one town (Fez) were equally as impressive and extremely educated and passionate in their particular area of expertise. Obviously, Each travelers experience will be different because of where you choose to visit but rest assured you are in the BEST hands when you are with this group. Look no further for the perfect trip, perfect guides and the most memorable vacation. Without a doubt, these two are now family and we still keep in touch since being home. Bottom line. I will be returning with my children and husband to see even more and will never travel this country side with anyone other than these two. This Summer we went on a girl’s trip, as a duo, and felt like this 11-day tour was the perfect amount of time to explore Morocco without rush. Hassan took care of us for the entire trip, always making sure that we were safe and hydrated. Every-time Hassan picked us up from our hotels, he gave us detailed break-downs of our itinerary for the day and always answered all of our questions. The week that we decided to travel to Morocco was the hottest couple of days that we had to endure (100+ Fahrenheit) and he had fresh water for us after every tour! Not only was Hassan such a great person to travel with, but his affiliated partners gave us the best tours in every city that we stopped at. We are Spanish speakers and found that we were able to communicate a lot with almost all of our tour guides, around cities, and while shopping! The hotels were great for taking cover from the heat outside and for naps after tours - we really could not have survived without the AC. Some hotels even had restaurants, bars, hammam, and all included a pool. We are very grateful for the guidance we had throughout the trip from where to eat dinner to getting us a bottle of wine for our overnight Sahara experience. We never felt unsafe as two (27y) females and had so much fun visiting and learning about UNESCO World Heritage sites throughout Morocco, shopping for rose and argan products, and taking in Hassan’s knowledge about his country. He really did make sure things were perfect for us even without us asking. We were so sad to leave but already looking forward to one day booking another tour with Atlas Desert Tours.
