We really liked this stop on our way to Guayaquil. Ninfa and her family are extremely welcoming. We did the cacao tour which was really interesting (it takes around 2h30). You learn the process of making chocolate from the tree to the different chocolate products. We could even do our own chocolate bar !! They have an offer including the lunch which is delicious (3 courses menu). Only with food from their garden. Don’t miss it ! It is a wonderful experience if you want to discover the world of chocolate which is really important in Ecuador. This was a private tour. This was a private tour. I booked the Saturday tour on late Friday afternoon and wasn’t sure if the the operator would pay attention. Fortunately Ninfa responded and confirmed the pick up address. Roberto was on time to pick the three of us. After about an hour ride, we arrived at Cocoa y Mango Farm. Jamil went through two kinds of cacao fruits and demonstrated cocoa processing. The 100% fresh cocoa juice was so delicious with the right balance of tartness and sweetness! We learned a lot about chocolate making and decorated our own bars. The lunch didn’t disappoint our gastronomic expectations. The appetizer of shrimp, crab, and fish ceviche, the entree of chicken and local rice, and the dessert of ice cream and chocolate balls were all amazing! On the way back, Roberto stopped by at a roadside market for us to buy local fruits. This was a perfect tour. I highly recommend it.El paseo es inolvidable , Jamil es un guía excelente y Ninfa la mejor Cheff de la zona !! Oh, my fellow travelers, this is a must! Get out the mosquito spray, buckle up for a very bumpy ride, and enjoy close encounter with caco pods to eating your own bar of 70% chocolate you decorated with rose pedals, nuts, or sprinkles. Walking about the trees you may have lizards alongside as a river runs past. Starting at a caco tree I learned it will produce constantly during the year (weather is consistent in Ecuador so no seasons) about 150 pods/year. Starts with the little blossom and then a miniature pod. Pods can be red or yellow when ready. Host made sure no step was left out laying symbol of each step onto a round board as a visual. This farm is totally eco friendly/sustainable tourism experiences. This area has been since 18th century one of world's most productive for cultivating and exporting fine-aroma Cocoa fruit (preferred by Swiss chocolatiers !). While my bar of chocolate sat, they served me a fantastic lunch including the famous Ecuador shrimp, and dessert in a cleaned out pod! It gives me great pleasure to promote this family operated, environmentally respectful, litter free , group of chocolatiers on the move with " El Corazon". (wish I could add photos but my hookup disallows)This was one of the best 1/2 day tours that I have done. The tour was relaxed but very informative. Guide was superb. Her knowledge was excellent. The hands on approach added to the experience. Food ( either picked from the trees or lunch) was very enjoyable. I would highly recommend this tour.

We loved the time that she and her family spent with us. We hope you continue to be successful in all your projects. Hugs from a distance.
