Myself and my husband took the Colombo cooking class whilst in Sri Lanka and my god was it one of our favourite experiences. We cooked 10 dishes using both familiar and new ingredients. Every single step was not only demonstrated but explained in full detail. We definitely left this experience feeling better equips at making Sri Lankan curries at home. Our hosts were so friendly and welcoming and instantly made us feel at home in their lovely home. We couldn’t recommend this experience enough! Why simply eat Sri Lankan food whilst in the country when you can learn to make authentic delicious Sri Lankan food for the rest of your life. We would both highly recommend this course for beginners and experienced cooks alike, there’s plenty to learn for people of all skill levels. We really enjoyed our cooking class in an authentic Sri Lankan home. We really enjoyed our cooking class in an authentic Sri Lankan home. The very kind husband and wife team teach you about the spices, kitchen tools and ingredients used to cook typical local food, allowing you to select your favourite vegetables. It was very fun and interesting to see how the dishes are prepared (it is a hands on experience as you help chop etc). At the end we got to sit down and eat the tasty meal. I highly recommend this cooking class for true Sri Lankan hospitality and delicious food.Piumi is an incredible woman.
