The world itself has changed a lot in many aspects, especially after Covid 19.We all have to accept this change and move on with this change.Really I feel fortunate to associate myself with Darjeeling Walks and got the opportunity to know many things about many of the colonial buildings, which I am not aware till now. But,with heavy heart we,all who have associated with this Walks, are in one opinion that the state of affairs of those Buildings are in very pathetic conditions. Its really very high time to realise this and do something right now, otherwise we will loose this all slowly in days to come. This is my personal feelings, that most of the tourists who visit Darjeeling on a regular basis are fed up with seven points,Zoo, HMI,Tiger Hill etc etc.It gives me immense happiness that two youths one Rahul and Anirban came forward with this unique concept Darjeeling Walks, which is good from health point of view and know manys facts that those Colonial Buildings are always there to share with us.Besides we all have do, something unique to survive in coming days. Most of the buildings are more than century old, and have treasures of those days which we most of us are not aware. After all old is gold. This is really a nice Innovation from these two Youths.I am fully confident that this concept will be future of Tourism Industry. I on behalf of myself and whole family like to extend best wishes and good luck.May both climb from Peak to Peak in days to come, and be remembered likeTenzing Norgay and Edmund Hillary for Mountaineering, in Tourism Industry with Darjeeling Walks. Our experience with Darjeeling Walks was just awesome., being born and brought up in Darjeeling. Absolutely loved the whole concept of Darjeeling Walks! It was two hours of a Saturday morning that was very well spent, learning the several forgotten tales of erstwhile Darjeeling. Even after having lived here for more than a year, Anirban and his team managed to introduce me to places I'd never thought existed in Darjeeling! He's really managed to excavate the true history of our town! Special shoutout to the zero waste snacks we were provided during the walk, the very special Newari sel roti and aloor dum, in leaf plates no less! I'd recommend a day with Darjeeling Walks to both locals as well as travelers, and in fact, it's for anyone who's willing to view Darjeeling with all the glorious legends it holds, and not just for it's already exploited tourist attractions. As a personal tradition and preference, I looked up walks in Darjeeling and stumbled upon this one. As a personal tradition and preference, I looked up walks in Darjeeling and stumbled upon this one. And there couldn’t have been a luckier find. I picked the Colonial Heritage walk from the meticulously curated portfolio that Darjeeling Walks offers. Right from discussing the options, to the actual tour, I had a wonderful experience with Anirban and his team. They even managed the pick-up option for me (thanks, Rahul!) to ensure the whole activity was smooth and effortless. The Colonial Heritage walk was led personally by Anirban, and I can vouch for his knowledge, keen observations and fondness for Darjeeling, that makes the entire experience unique. His personal efforts in giving the tourism and heritage of Darjeeling the facelift it needs, so to say, reflect in the anecdotes and narratives which make the walk fulfilling and informative. En route, we stopped by several locations, from the well-known tourist spots, to the ones that are on the brinks of collective memory. His information weaves in yesteryear details and the sign of the times, giving a wholesome cultural perspective of the place. Thanks to Anirban’s efforts, I now perceive the Queen of Hills as more than an amalgamation of tea estates and pleasant weather – a location that holds a magnificent past (surprisingly peppered with a Hungarian thread of legacy), and large potential to be more. Would definitely recommend this tour/ walk to anyone, who wishes to explore a place by foot, which is largely the best way to truly discover any place. Additionally, I’d urge all travelers to explore their other options that are curated to suit different tastes in exploration. Absolutely worth it!I am not a person that would usually take guided tours but I must say Darjeeling walks is purely amazing. I saw and experienced the most unusual which even google doesnt tell.
