What to expect
Learn or improve your skiing technique, so you can maximize your time and enjoyment when out on the trail. Our 2-hour lessons will teach you the basics of classic skiing and have you ready to venture out on your own.
Lessons run from 10 am till 12 pm on Thursdays and Sundays, and 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm on Fridays and Saturdays.
Rentals are not included, please let us know if you need to rent equipment.
Cost is $200 for 1 - 4 participants, $50 each for 5th and 6th participant. Please inform us if there will be a 5th or 6th participant joining.
Minimum age is 5 years old.

- Children must be accompanied by an adult

- We run the lesson rain or shine. Should our guides cancel the lesson due to unsafe trail conditions, an alternate date will be arranged.
- Most travelers can participate
- We expect guest to been in good health, and complete an Alberta COVID health declaration prior to departure of the lesson.
- Hand sanitizer available to travelers and staff
- Regularly sanitized high-traffic areas
- Gear/equipment sanitized between use
- Guides required to regularly wash hands
- Please take the COVID-19 self-assessment prior to the tour. In the case of yourself or someone in your group qualifying for self-isolation or COVID-19 testing, please notify our shop as soon as possible to arrange for a Raincheck and alternate tour date; no refunds will be given.

We didn't have a lesson but rented all of the equipment. Staff at Kananaskis Outfitters were very helpful and gave information on the trail system. We had a great time!

We rented cross country skis for the day to try some of the trails in Kananaskis. The daily rate was a great deal and included all of the equipment we needed (skis, poles, and boots). The staff were very helpful and friendly and made sure we had proper fitting gear and knew where we were going. And gave great recommendations for beginner trails and tips for skiing. We made a reservation and paid online beforehand (I would recommend), this made the pickup process really quick so we could get right to the trails. Drop off was just as easy at the end of the day, and they confirmed with us before we left what time we needed to have the equipment back by.
