We had a wonderful time with our Tour Leader Gavin on this half-day wine tour. Gavin is very knowledgeable about the region, the wines, and the wineries. We visited 6 different wineries - one of them added by Gavin because we were ahead of schedule. The wineries were all very welcoming and we got lots of detailed information about the wines we were tasting. We had lunch at one of the wineries (we paid on our own for this). Gavin took our orders in advance and everything was ready when we got there. Our group size of 11 was perfect. Lunch gave us an opportunity to meet and greet as we were all from the same cruise ship. All in all a great time. From beginning to end an excellent tour with a very good and informative guide in Keith. It was simple and easy to book and the mini bus waiting for us on time, what more could we ask for

Dean was a wonderful guide, able to give us a background not only on wine making in New Zealand in general but on the history of the area and it’s changes. He was very knowledgeable about the reclamation of the wetland we passed and it is so encouraging to see positive change. The 4 vineyards we visited all had something different to offer and the lunch we had at Wairau River was delicious. We even had time to stop and sample chocolate before returning to the ship. A wonderful finish to a great day!Gavin was great. Very friendly and knowledgeable! Excellent winery selection. Our group really enjoyed the experience.
