I can’t praise Jamie enough for his knowledge, passion and ability to translate the horrors of Dachau into lessons for everyone today. Jamie is an expert guide and patient person. I especially appreciated his responsiveness and patience as I was running a couple of minutes late to our 9AM meeting point due to trying to navigate the S-Bahn there. Take this tour! It will undoubtedly improve your experience at Dachau.Initially hesitant to book a group tour to visit Dachau because, well, group travel can be annoying, I’m glad we did it. Initially hesitant to book a group tour to visit Dachau because, well, group travel can be annoying, I’m glad we did it. Our tour guide was Jamie Buckley, and he was fantastic. He had an excellent knowledge of the history, with incredible stories to go along with the tour. He was encouraging of asking questions along the way and provided very thoughtful answers. You definitely benefit from a tour guide rather than walking your way through the camp listening to an audio recording on your own. Jamie kept through group together, even navigating an unexpected change in train routes to accommodate some participants that needed to store luggage. The group never felt too big even though I expected it to. I highly recommend this tour as it’s a very important part of history we should never forget and if you land Jamie as your guide, you will not be disappointed. Our tour guide Jamie Buckley was amazing. We enjoyed this excursion very much. It didn’t start too early, 10am, which is perfect after a late night arrival from the West Coast US the night before. The tour was about 4.5 hours total which was just right for something like this. Our tour guide, Jaime, was great. He was very informative, friendly and personable. Navigating through the 10 minute train ride to Dachau and 8 minute bus ride was no problem at all and dropped us off at the entrance of the site. Finished in time at the central train station with enough time to grab a late lunch and enjoy the Glockenspiel at Marionplatz a couple of stops over. All in all, totally worth the short investment in time and a sobering reminder of horrors we should never commit again.I learned so much!!!!! Our tour guide was amazing. 10/10 experience. Heavy, but important history. Definitely worth the trip.
