We check in at the office and take care of visa/passport formalities. Begin trekking through the forested trail, through colorful oak and rhododendron trees. The route leads through bamboo and mixed forests, and fields of crops, admiring the little villages along the way. The trail is continuously uphill to Kalapokhri, where we eat lunch. After a rest, hike on aneven trail to Bikhebhanjyang (or ‘Valley of Poison’). From here, it’s a steep climb over 4 kilometers to Sandakphu. Like the previous day, we recommend waking up for the surreal sunrise over the Himalayas. We climb up a little bit to a perfect viewpoint. Today’s view is even more fabulous than the previous, simply because the panorama is so expansive. Return to Sandakphu for breakfast and continue down towards Timburey. On the way, we have some of the best views of the trek. Through dense forests, we catch many glimpses of the highest mountain range on Earth. The trail is covered with bamboo, rhododendron, and other lush trees. Upon arrival in Timburey, we go to the private homestay where we sleep for the night. During dinner, learn about the culture and lifestyle of locals. Overnight in Timburey.

Thank you for such a great trek. From the very beginning Subash communicated with us promptly every time and organised a 5 day bespoke trek specially for us. Rupesh our guide looked after us so well, ensuring we got the very most out of our time on the trek. He seemed to know everyone and always knew the best stops for yet another cup of tea. He even organised some amazing views of Everest for us from Sandakphu. Thank you Subash for organising such a wonderful trek and thank you Rupesh for being the best ever guide. We had the best time on our trek with Ashmita! We had the best time on our trek with Ashmita! It was a last minute decision for my friend and I to do the 6 day / 5 night trip while already in Darjeeling, so we didn’t have much time for preparation. The Ashmita team are so organized and helped us navigate all the paperwork needed for border check ins, figure out what kind of gear we would need on the trek, and how to get from Darjeeling to the start in Rimbick. Subash, the owner, was in constant communication with us in the days leading up to starting, ensuring we had all the info for taxi times, who our guide was, what we’d need to pay for real-time versus later on, and answering any questions we had. Our guide, Rupesh, picked us up at our hotel in Darjeeling and walked us to the taxi we booked to ride to Rimbick. We loved having Rupesh as our guide. He’s incredibly knowledgeable about the areas we walked through, pointing out things to see we didn’t notice, and showing us things we could eat while on the path. We had a great time talking with him about things beyond the actual trek too. He’s always very funny and always felt relaxed, never hurrying us or making us feel like we were moving too slow. We asked to try and catch the sunrise at Sandakphu and once again at Phalut, so he got up early to check the weather both days for us and let us know when to come out and catch the sun. At night he made sure we had enough blankets to keep warm and kept us on track for all of our meals and tea breaks along the way. The food was delicious — breakfast, lunch and dinners. We packed snacks for daytimes, but had so much at mealtimes that we didn’t end up needing most of them. The trekker huts and home stays were great and we even got to charge our phones (aka our cameras) on most of the days when electricity was on in them! There’s little to no service, which we loved. Every person we stayed with, drank tea with, and chatted to at the stops was so kind and it felt like Rupesh knew all of them! The trip back to Darjeeling was just as smooth as the rest of the trek. Rupesh scheduled us a shared taxi and walked us back to Ashmita’s store front to make sure we picked up all our gear and could back a few things we’d borrowed. We had a great time debriefing with Subash and Rupesh about the off-beat route we’d taken. Overall, I would absolutely suggest booking with Ashmita and going on the off-beat route. The whole experience was so easy (minus the actual hiking up a mountain part) and the team truly are fantastic! My Friend and I had very little time due to leave constraints from office. My Friend and I had very little time due to leave constraints from office. But even then within 5 days we were done with the entire Trek and had time to spare. Our Guide Sangay Ji was Amazing and had vast knowledge and experience. Every step of the way he adjusted and tweaked our trek according to our needs without compromising on the experience. With him Anyone can complete the trek. We stayed in the best Homestays available on the way (Tonglu, Kalapokhri, Sandakphu and Timburey). The Food was top notch and quantity was unlimited. All the routes he took us on were breathtaking. Mr Subash from Asmita Tours was also very accommodating and gave us the Best possible deal while accommodating our time crunch. All in all It was an Amazing Experience, and Not a Day went by where we didn't see or experience something new.We did 4N-5D Sandaphu trek with Ashimta Treks. We did 4N-5D Sandaphu trek with Ashimta Treks. The whole trip (from pick up at Bgdogra airport on Day1 to drop off at Siliguri on Day 5) was well planned by Mr. Subhash. We stayed at homestays on all 4 nights which comprised of good accommodations and healthy, tasty food. Accommodation at Sandakphu was perfect with amazing views of Kanchunjunga and Mt. Everest (at a distance) right from the hotel. Our guide Pemba Sherpa and his assistant DK were super helpful, knowledgeable and fun. They made the difficult parts of the trek easy to navigate. All in all, brilliant experience. I planned to do this trek with my son who is a fitness expert and wanted to complete the maximum area in 4 days view limited time availability. Ashmita trek customised the trip so nicely that they provided an excellent guide and arranged accommodation and food at places which we changed as we progressed the trek. We managed to cover about 16 kilometres everyday in about 4 to 5 hours and covered Manebhanyang to Tumling, to Sandakphu to Phalut to Gorkey and finished at Srikola. I think no other trek company would be as flexible and cost effective and I would recommend Ashmita trek company anytime for every beginner to advanced professionals. Thank you so much Mr Subash. Your timely advices and prompt actions made sure that my trek trip was most memorable. We had Sandakphu-Phalut trek with Asmita trek &tours during 11th to 17 November 21. The experience was awesome. We had Sandakphu-Phalut trek with Asmita trek &tours during 11th to 17 November 21. The experience was awesome. Preparation for trek started long back during August, September. Mr. Subhash came in picture right from then. He advised us a lot from the excercises to be done for preparation of trek till the booking of further journey on last day of trek. We had queries every now and then before the trek & he had all the solutions. Thanks a lot to him. Because of his guidance we could prepare very well for the trek & had no difficulties at all during the trek. Stay & food during the trek was excellent. We met Sanghay on 1st day of our trek. I have no words to describe him. A nice person, full of knowledge on any topic, extremely helpful, encouraging every time, & lot & lot..... I am sure that a person like Sanghay can make any trek possible & enjoyable to any person. Thanks a lot from bottom of my heart 💖 to Sanghay. I would definitely like to trek again with Asmita trek and tours & of course with Sanghay.
