Booked a wonderful private tour to go to Nami Island. A quick stop at the petite France then an afternoon of fun skiing. The whole family enjoyed it very much. I would recommend it to any family especial with this cold weather. A big thanks to Harry our tour guide. He was punctual and attentive. He looked after us very well and he gave us lots of skiing tips. Will do this again if we come back to Seoul one day. Thank you.The driver was on time and the tour guide is knowledgeable. Thanks to both of you. We had a wonderful tour.

Just completed a day tour on Feb 7 taking us from downtown Seoul to 1) Petit France, 2) Nami Island, and 3) Elysian Ski Resort (in that order). Thing started very well when we booked 2 days before the tour. Harry was very prompt and clear with his communication with us. He arrived at our hotel right at the arranged time, transporting my wife, along with two other small groups via a spacious, comfortable, and clean mini-bus. Petit France was about an hour out of Seoul. We arrived well before the crowds. Altogether, it's a cute theme 'park' (I use the term loosely, as there aren't really any rides to speak of - more exhibits and photo-op spots). There are numerous demonstrations/shows scheduled throughout the day which I am sure kids would enjoy. Without the shows and without kids, the hour we spent there was sufficient. Nice roadside attraction overall, but for us, not really a 'must see.' We spent nearly 2 hours at Nami Island, which was also sufficient for a walk around - beautiful scenery all around and on our visit, the crowds were bearable. There are plenty of tasteful displays (e.g. water fountains, wooden sculptures) along the walking paths, good local and some international food options, gift shops with plenty of variety (without much of the tacky stuff you'd find in Namdaemun or Insadong) , and dozens of photo-friendly spots there. We were hoping for snow (banking on early February being the best time for it), but mother nature didn't deliver. Nevertheless, Nami remains a peaceful, very well-maintained natural park that could be enjoyed any season. Just after the Nami Island visit, Harry took us to a yummy family-run Korean chicken barbecue place. Awesome, authentic, unpretentious place frequented mostly by locals. We came away very satisfied. Elysian Ski Resort was also fun. We rented ski outfits at a nearby shop (not mandatory, but reasonably priced at 20,000 Won all-in) and highly recommended if you want to come home warm and dry. Skis and boots were provided by the resort (rental fee included in the tour price itself). One note: if you're any taller than 6ft 2, have big feet, and a bit of a gut, you may have a hard time fitting into the available gear. I pretty much maxed out what was on offer. Altogether, we spent about 3 hours at Elysian. Don't expect Telluride powder. The snow was grainy and 100% artificial, but workable. The resort on the day we went was loaded with 'newbs' from all over Asia and many of their guides seemed to be absolute hacks. Harry, on the other hand, was great. He is evidently an experienced and very competent ski instructor who showed my wife and the other novices in our group the basics of getting down the bunny slope in one piece. He was patient and very encouraging. Food at the resort was, expectedly, grossly overpriced and nothing special. Save your appetite for when you get back to Seoul. Throughout the trip, Harry provided a wealth of information, drove us safely from place-to-place, and also took dozens of great photos of all 3 groups on the tour, sending us the photos just hours after the end of the trip. The whole thing was altogether enjoyable and worth the very reasonable price. When I originally booked the trip I thought I was booking a private day trip, just for myself, my wife and our son. When I originally booked the trip I thought I was booking a private day trip, just for myself, my wife and our son. When we got picked up from the hotel on the morning of the trip I discovered that actually another 9 people were going on the trip with us, which initially was disappointing (we don't usually mix well with others). As it turned out, we had a fantastic day. The other people (all from the Philippines) were great fun, we really enjoyed their company. Our guide (Charlie) was brilliant, we couldn't have asked for better. He attended to our every need and looked after us so very well. All-in-all we loved every minute.I highly recommend our tour guide Jun who made our trip AWESOME! Very flexible and approachable guide who takes excellent photos. FREE LUNCH was also great! A value for money trip. And we'll definitely come back.
