Coda was fantastic at taking pictures of us in the water with the manatees. I highly recommend this tour - it is truly a spiritual experience to swim with the manatees. Such beautiful and gentle creatures. Will definitely do it again in life!Fantastic tour. I booked this for my family - husband, kids (20 & 17) and me. Fantastic tour. I booked this for my family - husband, kids (20 & 17) and me. I was apprehensive about getting in the water not knowing much about Florida waterways and thinking was I crazy - Might get chomped by a gator. After reassurance that that would not be the case, I am so glad I did it. The manatees nose “boop” you and “hug” you. The baby ones are gentle and lots of fun. Really an experience of a lifetime and glad to have done it.Took the afternoon manatee swim tour with Stephanie as our captain and Alyssa as our guide… after interacting with another guide for the safety talk it was clear we got lucky with our boat crew. Took the afternoon manatee swim tour with Stephanie as our captain and Alyssa as our guide… after interacting with another guide for the safety talk it was clear we got lucky with our boat crew. Alyssa was fun, laid back and quite knowledge about the manatees as was our captain. They took strides to enable us to have an experience with the manatees away from other tours and even took us to a natural spring to swim after. They even had great recommendations on where to eat and other places in the vicinity that would be cool to see. Highly recommend! Ask for Alyssa as your guide! What a great experience today! What a great experience today! I had some anxiety about the trip with regards to the water temp and the wet suit. I had low expectations that we would see anything. Wow I need not have worried! The wetsuits were easy to put on and the water wasn't too cold. But I was happy to be wearing the wetsuit though, it was a little bit cool! "Slow Jim" was our captain and Dakota our guide. Both were great! The boat ride through the idle area to the larger open area was gorgeous. Old Florida, undeveloped. We stopped twice to swim above manatees, Dakota did a great job directing us where to position ourselves and how to be safe. One woman was a bit anxious at first and Dakota had her hold his arm for a while until she was comfortable. The second stop was even better than the first, our manatee friend was much more active and surfaced multiple times and swam around us. We had a great day and felt safe the entire time. Thank you Crystal River Watersports, I would highly recommend you and would book again.Jim and Leah were amazing and knowledgeable. Jim and Leah were amazing and knowledgeable. They truly care about the manatees as “guardian guides” and relayed so much information. We had a small group of 5 and had so much time in the water with the manatees. One of my teens was extremely nervous and Jim helped encourage him into the water. On the way back they had hot chocolate for us to warm us from the inside out. I would highly recommend them for their intimate tours. They care about their customers and the manatees. Bring a towel, long pants and a sweatshirt for the boat ride back as the breeze can be chilly. Don’t forget to bring some cash to tip your Captain and guide.
