If you have any interest at all in Northern Ireland and its history, this tour is essential. On top of that, our tour guide, Gleann, was, on top of being personable, exceptionally knowledgeable about every detail of Bloody Sunday, which personally affected him. It was so real to walk the steps and see the space of the Bloody Sunday massacre, and to hear its history told by a guide who knew the area and event intimately. Gleann also was a great source for recommendations in Derry. We hope to return to Derry and see him again! This was always going to be one of the highlights of our return visit to Northern Ireland. This was always going to be one of the highlights of our return visit to Northern Ireland. Bloody Sunday and the civil rights struggle is a very emotive topic and to have it brought to life by someone whose life has been shaped by these events is very powerful and moving. Gleann was our guide and was friendly, personable and very well versed in Irish history. If you are looking for a first hand account of the history of the events that lead up to the 'troubles' this is a 'must do' tour. Thank you Gleann for both the tour and the craic. It was both thought provoking and fun.Gleann our guide was friendly and informative. Really enjoyed the tour, highly recommended to anyone interested in Irish political history.
