Just a heads up warning - I don’t normally hire a guide for touring the jungle, I normally just go bush it. But this vacation I decided to try something different. I booked reservations though Ritz for three excursions Boat Tour, Jungle Hike, and Sky Tour Extreme. The number one thing that bugs me about large tour groups is they want nature to come to them by bating animals to come closer(Lazy tourists). This company had no interest in having nature come to you. They don’t feed wildlife to bate the birds to fly by your boat. They don’t feed monkeys to come out. On the flip side the guides are professionals when it comes to spotting snakes, birds, plants and other animals/wildlife that are of interest. And when you do see the animals they are in their natural habitat, with minimal human interaction. The Boat tour felt like a guided tour with structure. But the guide knew a whole lot about nature and was very enthusiastic about the environment. The guide was very knowledgeable about the wildlife and plans. Beautiful sights of the environment as well on this tour. The sky tour extreme is a short little hike up to the sky bridge. Not a lot of people around during this hike so you really get to take in nature with minimal disturbances. During this time I really got to pick the guides brain on living in Langkawi and Elis was very open to the way of life and other aspects of island life. It was a very peaceful and relaxing time doing all three excursions and I would do them all again - many tweak them a bit to see if I could customize the boat tour to last longer and stop at some remote beaches. But it was a pretty epic time spending almost two full days with my guide Elis who taught me a lot about the island and helped me enjoy Langkawi to the fullest.Amazing experience with Salam who was patient in sharing about the many questions we asked. He was able to spot various sea creatures for sharing and keep my 5 year old engaged. Suitable for young and old.

Our guide, Salam, was very hospitable and personable! Though we were half hour late for the tour, he was still accommodating and shared with us some facts about the sea. He is very friendly with kids too :) Thank you Salam! Hope to see you in Singapore. And wish you all the best! - Grace
