Dia island: 7hrs Full Day Semiprivate Sailing in Crete
Overview
Our sailing tours are designed based on safety, experiencing nature, human interaction and cultural exchange.
Our knowledgeable crew is happy to share all the local knowledge concerning the surrounding nature and the history of the area.
You will be encouraged to participate in sailing if you wish to and even take the helm of our large yachts under the guidance and supervision of our professionals.
We will anchor in secluded bays at a minimum disturbance. Take your time and relax, just make sure that you grab a mask and dive in the crystal clear water. The visibility in the water along the places we visit is more than 35meters.
Save some energy for walking on the the hill and hand pick a bit of local herbs. Our organic, local fresh lunch served on board has been one more reason why our guests continue talking about our tours over and over again.

What to expect
Sailing to Dia island with large sailing yachts. Friendly & professional crew will accompany you through your day and will introduce you to some secrets of sailing.
We set sails to the south part of the island, that is about 50' away. We carefully approach the coves that are surrounded by the protected wildlife, like the medium sized “Falco Eleonorae”, the wild goat Capra Aegagrus Cretica and the monk seal Monachus monachus.
You can jump from the boat and use the snorkel we provide! With a visibility of more than 40 meters, you will enjoy one of the most clear water ever. You can even learn how to recognize different fish species on the spot!
Our team will tell you everything about the history and the myths of the island while a yummy meal from fresh and local organic ingredients is being prepared
Free to enjoy your time as you like even isolating to enjoy mother nature.
After your lunch and perhaps after a quick dive, we will set our sails again to return back to Heraklion Venetian port. And who knows maybe on our way back we will spot some of our lovely mammal friends, the dolphins.

A truly wonderful day trip to Dia. From start to finish our host Matthew and Skipper Vag were so welcoming, friendly, knowledgeable. The boat was beautiful with space to store our bags, toilets and a fresh water shower to rinse off the salt. Lunch was so fresh and delicious. They spoke three different languages and it was very intimate with one other family and a couple. We stopped in two bays and snorkelled and swam. There is enough marine life to see, it’s not a coral reef but the water is the most beautiful clear turquoise. End to end, really memorable special day for our holiday. Thanks you!Fantastic trip with excellent food and care by crew. Beautiful swim in 2 bays. Great information about Dia island and Greek history

A really fabulous day out with lovely captain Vag and crew/chef George. We are a family of 4 and there were two other small families on the trip from other countries . Vag and George have perfect English language skills and could not have been more friendly, professional and hospitable. The boat was excellent, immaculately clean and tidy and the guys are highly skilled sailors with exceptional attention to detail, H&S awareness etc. The trip was exquisite. Everything I had hoped for a boat trip and more. The dolphins gave us a lovely side show on the way out to Dia and I would recommend the 7m our trip over the 4 hour as you can do the coves in reverse order and avoid the “crowds”. The water / snorkelling here at Dia is beautiful. Crystal clear warm water, wafts of wild oregano, lots of marine life and birds. Just idyllic. Lovely fresh food made by George and even my teenagers were happy. They guys were really knowledgeable and keen to share info and point things out. This was the absolute highlight of our holiday in Crete and excellent value for money. Book direct on their website. They will answer v quickly on WhatsApp if you have any questions and kindly gave us a discount code. 7 hours went VERY quickly! We had booked with another company who cancelled on us at the last minute. So we were glad that Harry and George were able to accommodate us the next day. Only five guests on the boat. A leisurely sail out to Dia Island where we moored in two different spots. A very impressive tour with two stops to swim in the ocean. Both very nice spots at places where noone else bothered us. One of the Crew members prepared an amazing meal for Lunch with the best food i have eaten in my whole vacation. Later we also got a fruit bowl each. Equipment wise, they also had everything you would want to have a very nice swim and dive in the shallow waters just before the cliffs. The crew could also tell us a lot about sailing and the areas we were seeing. Bring sunscreen! All in all an amazing experience with very nice and competent people. Would definitly recommend!
