The bishop of the Church of Sweden's Gothenburg diocese resides in Gothenburg Cathedral. This cathedral marks the third time the site has hosted a place of worship. It was constructed in 1815 and features a classical design. The original Gustavi church was erected in 1633 and was given its name in honor of King Gustav II Adolf.

Kungsportsplatsen or King's Gate Place is located in the heart of Gothenburg. The city gate served as the primary entry to the walled settlement, which was and remains enclosed by a moat.

Stop At: Horticultural Gardens (Tradgardsforeningen), Slussgatan 1, Gothenburg 411 06 Sweden

Located in the heart of Gothenburg, the Garden Society of Gothenburg is a park and horticultural garden. Adjacent to Kungsportsavenyen, it is a convenient location. In 1842, at the urging of amateur botanist Henric Elof von Normann, King Carl XIV Johan established the park.

Avenyn was modeled after well-established formal European streets like the Champs-Élysées in Paris and the Ringstraße in Vienna when it was planned in the middle of the 19th century as the first middle-class residential zone beyond the bastions of the fortified center of the city. This is a terrible tour. The cost is outrageous for this 2 hr tour. First this is not the fault of our guide. She was wonderful and did what she was told to do. The tour is just a walk about through a large city, with zero stops in parks, gardens, historical monuments, coffee shops, ect.. The ...
