What to expect
This is a typical itinerary for this product
Pass By: La Citta Alta, Bergamo Italy
Bergamo is the split-into-two town: Bergamo Alta (‘the high Bergamo”) and Bergamo Bassa (“the low town”), joined by the historic cable car.
Within the heart of the beautiful Bergamo Alta, we selected the best preparations, capable of presenting in one dish the food culture of the area of Bergamo: from the farmers’ traditional meals, to the richly presented meats, to the gelato ‘stracciatella’, which was first created in Bergamo indeed.
Escorted by our local Foodie, you will discover a secret itinerary enclosed within the walls of the Città Alta, created following strong flavours and delicate scents, starting from the origins of the Lombard tradition and taking us to the contemporary Bergamo food scene that we know today.
Pass By: Palazzo e Giardini Moroni - Fondazione Museo di Palazzo Moroni, Via Porta Dipinta 12, 24129 Bergamo Italy
Let's start the tour with a typical aperitivo with toasted bread slices topped with local garnishments, sided by a glass of Valcalepio red wine
Pass By: Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore, Piazza Vecchia 6, 24129 Bergamo Italy
We then move to the second stop. In one of the most charming restaurants in town, we will taste the traditional casoncelli or the Foiade, the Sunday dish of the local tradition.
Pass By: Piazza Vecchia, 24129 Bergamo Italy
We'll pass by Piazza Vecchia and reach our next stop where we are going to taste the famous Polenta with lard and cheese.
Pass By: Viale delle Mura, 24129 Bergamo BG, Italy
Finally taste delicious ice cream, "stracciatella" flavour and the inevitable conclusion of every Italian proper meal: espresso coffee.

Irem, who is originally from Turkey, gave us the tour. She told us all kinds of facts about the Bergamo people and beautiful historical buildings. In between we had the usual 5 course (appetizer, primo, secundo, icecream, coffee) Italian dinner at different traditional Bergamo restaurants. The food is typical for Bergamo, so you get to know and experience the Bergamo eating culture. The food was great and abbundant. The first glass of wine and all the water you want, is included. Everything else you want, you have to pay for. Irem didn’t know the answer to all of our questions, but her enthusiasm more than made up for it. The tour lasted 4hours instead of 3,5 hours. Partially because we had to wait for the food, but also because Iram showed us places that were not included in the tour. That was no problem for her. We loved the tour and would highly recommend it. Thank you very much Iram and never change your enthusiastic quality!
