The elephant sanctuary is something I recommend to anyone. However, this is NOT a tour, it is only a transfer with entrance fee. The driver spoke no english and was silent the entire way. There were no questions about comfort, toilet stops, etc and it's a long trip. We had trouble when we arrived as the sanctuary had no record of our ticket purchase. However they sorted it out and the day was absolutely amazing. DO not miss the opportunity to swim with the elephants, it's a life-changing experience.Beautiful experience! You will not be disappointed with this experience! Please do not hesitate to book a visit here! Me and my boyfriend spent a long time looking into elephant sanctuaries in Thailand and this was one of the only ones we wanted to visit. We were staying in Bangkok and travelled 3 hours to get here but it was all so worth it! We visited for a full day. We prepared food, fed, walked, bathed and swam with the elephants. The elephants are treated very, very well and all the staff are caring and loving. Our favourite elephant was chopper who was very greedy! I can’t thank them enough for our experience. We will never forget this day for the rest of our lives, thank you xA beautiful and rewarding day. Up close and personal with these gentle giants. The drive is so worth the opportunity to interact -- feed, walk, bathe and swim -- with these beautiful rescued elephants. Go!

It was a great day. Journey from Bangkok is pretty long: 2.5 hours! But it is really worth it. This center has currently 7 elephants. You arrive in the morning and after briefing, you prepare food and feed the elephants. After a 1 to 2 hours treck in the park, you get back to the center and have a very tasty lunch. After you take elephants to a mud hole and play in the mud with them. Next activity: swimming and playing in the Kwai river! Then back to the center and after a snack for elephants, it is time to say bye-bye. Elephants are happy and very well taken care of. They sleep in a large cage but are not attached. Handlers do not hurt them, they push them and pull them gently. If they do not want to move, they are not forced to. They can go wherever they want. It is a great project and needs our support. Of course it is 2X more expensive but sooooo much better than the other "classic" elephants parks for tourists which torture elephants. I recommend 100% !Elephants go back to the center for being fed by visitors (who learn in the process) but roam free in a marge area on River Kwai for most of the day. Elephants go back to the center for being fed by visitors (who learn in the process) but roam free in a marge area on River Kwai for most of the day. They eat, play, and swim in the river. They are very friendly and visitors can actually swim with them. It is a most humane place that has banned riding on the elephants, shows, etc. The animals look very happy. The visitors too.
