Our tour guide was great! She was well-equipped, very knowledgeable, and exceptionally responsive to questions and special requests from our family of four and the other couple in the full van. I’m sure we would all recommend her personally to anyone in a heartbeat!! However, I would NOT recommend this tour for a family, for three reasons: 1) The very expensive cost, which doesn’t include up to three admissions (castle, boat ride to island, and island church entry, all totaling 45-50 Euros on top of the per person tour cost); 2) The highly variable Lake Bled area weather, especially in Spring and Fall. In our case, multiple weather reports sites forecasted clear weather as of 24 hours before, so we booked the tour, only to then face constant cloudiness and either drizzle or rain which prevented most of the anticipated visual treats over valleys and to the Julian Alps. NOTE - Our guide was absolutely NOT responsible for the weather, but did everything she could to make it as enjoyable as possible. 3) You may not get our tour guide, and I can’t vouch that others would make it as good as possible given our circumstances. We passengers chose to end our 5 hour tour nearly an hour early given the weather. So, you’re looking at well over 100 Euros per person, with no family discounts, for what could turn out to be a mediocre experience, even with the best of guides. If there are more than two of you, just rent a car and do it on your own. NOTE - I rated this 4 stars so it wouldn’t reflect poorly on our Guide, as she deserved 5 stars; however, the whole experience despite the fantastic guide should probably only be 2 starsThe boats on lake bled are horrible and awful. The boat conpany is really bad, we got terrible service and an unsafe experience. Not worth the money!!! Dont go on the boats!!!

I very much enjoyed the tour with Ines, who was knowledgeable in the specifics of Lake Bled and the Castle. Was easy to communicate, arrange a pick-up and drop-off, and time everything. On the way we got to learn a lot about Slovenia as a whole, so it's a good primer for anyone staying a few days. One recommendation is to bring sturdy footwear as it can get slippery. Overall a great experience that's not too tiring and gives you a beautiful view of Lake Bled from above.Lake Bled is beautiful and well worth a visit. A minivan is a good way to do it. Lake Bled is beautiful and well worth a visit. A minivan is a good way to do it. A little annoying that not everything can be paid at once, but one has to pay separately for boat ride, for church and for the castle. Just collect the money in advance, please. Also missing the little extras, like a nice café stop and the best spots for photos. Our guide was friendly and did help when asked, but as a lazy tourist I'd appreciate being pampered.
