What to expect

Nausicaa offers an entertaining, educational and scientific visit, raising public awareness about the need to act responsibly towards the world's seas if their resources and beauty are to be maintained.
You'll move past the queues with your skip-the-line admission for entry into an astounding aquatic world. Some 58, 000 living creatures, and 1, 600 different species, swim and flounder about 17 million litres of water across 85 aquariums, large tanks and terrariums.

We particularly liked the theatre that provides a cinema style view on the largest aquarium with sharks and rayfish. Also the tropical aquarium and the area with sea lions were great.

We booked online, and saw still many places left (more than 500). We realised why, when we entered at our indicated time schedule: most people seem to buy tickets at the counter, without reservation. Consequence: much too many people around (many without masks) often close together staring at various sea animals and with too many running children. For me this is Irresponsible management of crowds during these corona times. Aquaria themselves are ok, but the big one is most impressive. Second tour is less attractive. Audioguide is not worth the money, with very basic info, not detailing many claims that are made. I had quite some hunger for more details or explanations.
