Day one we did the paragliding tour with Julian, who was very knowledgeable and provided us a great tour of penol as well as guatape! We decided to rebook the second day for one of their other tours, the zip line tour with the via Ferrata to the top of the waterfall and it was incredible! On this trip we had Tomas who was incredibly nice. The zip lining provided an amazing adrenaline rush but the via Ferrata was the best part, you get right up close to the waterfall as you climb up and there is truly nothing like it. Definitely highly recommend both tours if you come to Medellin! Thank you ecoventuresI was in contact with this company for about a month trying to organize a group outing. I was in contact with this company for about a month trying to organize a group outing. We ended up doing this specific tour because it was something we've never done, it was affordable and the people I spoke to via Whatsapp was very helpful and also spoke English. The tour took all day from pick up to drop off. The driver and tour guide showed up early to our first pick up spot in a nice comfortable van. On the ride up to the mountains, we stopped at a viewpoint that overlooks Medellin. You can request bathroom stops and they will accommodate you. The ride took about an hour and a half or so. We actually got stuck in the mud on the way up because it had just rained the night before. But there were some locals that helped us out of it. The tour started at a cute little local restaurant where you can buy snacks, drinks and something quick if you are hungry. Then you start the hike DOWN to the first zip line. There wasn't much instructions but luckily i've done a zip line before so i just used my past experience knowledge and applied it to this one. So just be aware, if you have questions, JUST ASK! they will help explain and make you more comfortable about the LONG zip line across to the other side. The first zip line is very long and fast, dont be afraid and open your eyes and enjoy the views around you. The ride will go by real fast. Once you get to the other side, there is another restaurant, more like a bar, where you can buy drinks and snacks. I believe there is also another smaller restaurant nearby where you can also buy food but we didn't stop there. Have a beer or 2 while you wait for the rest of your group to zip across. Once everyone got to the other side, it literally started raining! First it was just a little bit but then it just started pouring rain. Our guide pretty much said we should just go ahead and hike down to the waterfall since we will get wet anyway. Which is true. We ended up hiking down to the waterfall as it was pouring rain on us and once we got down to the waterfall, it was absolutely beautiful! It's quite dangerous if you end up slipping or falling, it is not a calm waterfall. So be careful. Once we were done at the waterfall, completely drenched, we hiked back up to the zipline for our zip line back to the other side. We were cold and wet and wanted to change clothes, while some of us did, some didnt because it was still raining a little bit. Once we zipped back to the other side (it's the lower zip line, which seems a bit shorter than the first one), we had to hike back up to the main restaurant where we started. We ordered some delicious colombian food, had some beers, changed and left the mountain. On the way back, the tour guide wanted to keep us safe and made sure we didnt get stuck in the mud again, so we had to take a longer route out of the mountains. So we added about an hour more to the ride back but at least we didnt get stuck in the mud! The entire tour was fun and memorable. the only thing i wish they would have told us was to leave our dry clothes inside the van rather than make us take everything wirh us because when we hiked in the rain, all of our clothes got soaking wet so really we didnt have any super dry clothes to change into. But other than that, it was good tour, the tour guide was great, the driver kept us safe, and it was a very good time!It was a fun experience and the tour guide was one of the most amazing guide ever. He went above and beyond to make sure we had a good time.
