Spent 3 days 2 nights in the new Peony cruise 2. The deluxe cabin is nice and clean but was quite small esp if you have luggages, there wasn't much space. Love the bathtub and balcony. First day (after midday)was spent kayaking followed by happy hour before dinner. 2nd day was a trip by day boat to Cat Ba island... Took about 2 hrs on the boat which we thought was quite long. The time spent at the village was pretty average. The next day, we decided to stay behind rather than spend most of our last day away from our cabin again... We thought we had to make the most of it and enjoy the cruise instead. We think that their itinerary would have been better if the travels from one place to another was spent on Peony cruise (cruise stayed pretty much in same spot for 2 nights)- we understand that they may have regulations to follow but it's such a pity to have not spent more time on it esp with a 2 full on day activities. All staff are friendly and helpful although a lot of them don't speak much English and could sometimes affect the communication... which caused few mistakes over a few things. ..was glad to have Ruby came along the 2nd day to help staff out. She was an excellent support for the staff and passengers alike due to her fluent English. Need more like her. Food was great...delicious! Overall...it was a great experience. It's a new cruise so there's time to improve things a bit. It's nice, clean, delicious food, friendly staff and beautiful, breathtaking views.Huang was an amazing host! Ronaldo and his crew went out of their way to make this part of our honeymoon memorable. From the warm welcome, to a special table arrangement for dinner this was a brilliant experience. The food was fresh and very tasty and Ronaldo made sure our dietary requirements were met. One small issue was the digital light on the air con unit which was bright at night. Highly recommend the two day/one night trip! After a bit of research and listening to the advice of other travellers, we decided to book the 3 day 2 night cruise of Halong Bay with Peony Cruises. After a bit of research and listening to the advice of other travellers, we decided to book the 3 day 2 night cruise of Halong Bay with Peony Cruises. I booked direct through their website and received prompt replies to any questions I had prior to my final booking. Our 12 day trip to Vietnam concluded with this cruise, which was our treat to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary, so we booked the Exclusive suite cabin with private balcony. We were on the Peony 2 boat, which was less than 3 months old. Our room was fantastic, with floor to ceiling windows, the views were amazing to wake up to. The crew were friendly and couldn't be more helpful with any questions you may have. We were picked up from our hotel in Hanoi and dropped off after the cruise. We had amazing weather and enjoyed the day trip on the day boat, going to a small village. My husband biked the 5kms and I went in the transport provided. On our last morning we loved the final activity going through a 300m long cave. The cooking demonstrations, happy hour that lasted for more than an hour, before and after dinner, night squid fishing were activities you could opt into or out of. The food on board was amazing and the last nights candlelight dinner on the top deck was beautiful. Amy and her crew were great. I couldn't recommend Peony cruises more highly. They advertise that they go on a route less travelled by other cruise companies operating in Halong Bay, which is true and this makes it even more special. My wife and I booked the 3 day 2 night cruise during the TET (Chinese New Year) period in February 19. My wife and I booked the 3 day 2 night cruise during the TET (Chinese New Year) period in February 19. It is really a two day, two night, cruise as you join the boat after midday and leave the boat midday 48 hrs later. We were collected from our hotel in Hanoi and after a 2 hr drive arrived at the port. Peony Cruises is part of Orchid Cruises which runs four other cruise companies. We were then transferred to our cruise boat anchored about 1/2 off shore along with many other cruise boats. Our boat was almost new being only a year old. We were welcomed aboard and shown to our cabins. We had booked a cabin on the second deck and were pleased with the quality and layout. We had a very enjoyable 2 days sailing by lovely scenery although the weather was not too good initially it did brighten up. The organised trips to a village and some caves, the kayaking and cycling (new bikes) were all well organised and very enjoyable. The food on board was very good and all the crew were very friendly and attentive. The only downside for us was the amount of time spent on the smaller day boat. We expected all our cruising to be done on the main boat but we spent about 4-5hrs cruising on the day boat which took us for a trip cycling to a village & kayaking. Whilst on the day boat we did not have use of the facilities we had paid for, ie no access to our cabin, free drinks, showers, our bed etc. Being a smaller older boat the lounge was certainly not as comfortable as the lounge on the main boat. We also had to pay for any drinks we had on the day boat, even tea or coffee that were complimentary on the main boat. Overall though it was an enjoyable 2 days and 2 nights.Honestly this cruise is amazing the boat is stunning ,the staff are so helpful and Ronald the cruise manger is an amazing manager who looks after his customers and staff so attentively The kyacking and visit to the cave were so much fun the views are stunning and the actual boat is so well pres...
Honestly this cruise is amazing the boat is stunning ,the staff are so helpful and Ronald the cruise manger is an amazing manager who looks after his customers and staff so attentively The kyacking and visit to the cave were so much fun the views are stunning and the actual boat is so well presented and completely new We did the three day two night one there is so much happening ranging from happy hour squid fishing and cookery Lessons and ti chi on the boat The only downside for me was the WiFi as it was not strong and there fore you could not post beautiful pictures of the bay also the food for me fine dining is not what I wanted although Ronald’o the manager did bring me a sandwich to my room and took two drinks of the bill as I wasn’t eating the second night The ship is not cheap at £250 a night as it’s a new boat so every penny of the final bill helped And just one more note on the second day we were due to go to a villiage and this did not happen due to bad whether and we went kyackijg again which was slightly disappointing Other than that it’s a fantastic cruise and I loved it
