Like most Tours, the success or failure of it is in the tour guide. We were lucky enough to have Joe, who was very passionate and interesting. Seeing a section of the Berlin Wall was a highlight. This tour is not scary, more educational, and I think children would be fine on it. The tour we attended was predominantly made up of Americans and Europeans. The haunted stories and Joe was full of knowledge and humour. We started punctually and I would reccomend this to anyone who has not been to Korea before, great way to also check out the city with history injected.

Learnt a great deal and found a new appreciation for attractions I had visited by day prior to the trip.

I was with a few fellow travellers on the standard version of this tour, and then alone with our guide Joe for the extended version of the tour, during a weekend at the end of May 2022. Despite the very possible clause that "bookings may be cancelled due to insufficient numbers", Joe told me that they actually do still hold it even if it is a single person as "we have all been solo travellers before, we understand". This was echoed again in one of their recent Facebook posts (yes, please check them out), which I thought was really nice. Joe was friendly and entertaining, but also knowledgeable as he had been based locally for quite some time. Their stories are very well researched, and in cases where the tale toes the boundaries of fact and fiction, it entertains and raises hairs. I only got to know about Joe and Shawn's Dark Side of Seoul Podcast (which goes in depth into some historical and folkloric culture points touched on during the walking tour) after booking the tour, but have been hooked on it since (yes, again, please check them out). Both are perfect for people who love little tales/stories/trivia/just interesting info. Definitely a great experience that I would recommend to have, if visiting Seoul.
