I was hopeful of doing the EBC trek for the last 2-3 years, however couldn’t make it happen because of other personal and professional commitments. Finally, in Oct 2021, I was able to manage my time for this long-awaited EBC trek and decided to go for it in Nov 2021. I googled about different companies who can assist with the trek. Eventually, I finalized to go ahead with “Exciting Nepal” considering the proactiveness and optimal cost offered by @Subash. @Subash very well explained to me the comprehensive trek plan and ensured all my doubts/apprehensions especially arising out of the Covid situation are resolved. Finally, I booked the package with “Exciting Nepal” as facilitated by @Subash. The overall booking experience was easy and hassle-free. I arrived in Kathmandu on 22nd Nov 2021 and my guide(@Suman) was at the airport to receive me. The pickup was easy as I was constantly being in touch with both @Subash and @Suman to ensure there is no end movement chaos. I was introduced to my other partner “Alejandro” from Argentina who had arrived at the airport just sometime before and was supposed to be my companion throughout the trek. @Suman dropped us at the hotel “Woodapple” in Thamel. @Subash was already present in the hotel to greet us. After a short introduction, @Subash & @Suman briefed us about the overall plan and about our flight to Lukla the very next day morning. On 23rd Nov, we took the flight to Lukla from Kathmandu domestic airport along with our guide @Suman. The air travel from Kathmandu to Lukla was a pleasant and thrilling experience. We could see the high and snow-clad mountains, while the aircraft traversed through and very close to the mountains. The journey was breathtaking and we enjoyed it fully. As we arrived at Lukla, we meet our superman porter(@Ramesh). While @Subash the guide was expected to help us with all the needed information and the routes, @Ramesh was supposed to carry our gears throughout the trek. After a light repast, we started our trek from Lukla to Phakding. The next 7-8 days were of the trek, acclimatize, eat, & sleep. All the days were very well planned and the schedule was well organized so that it's comfortable and at the same time as per our customized expectations. The guide @Suman introduced us to different notable points of interest during the trek. We also discussed the Sherpa people in Nepal, the culture, the Buddhist monasteries, the mountains, the rivers & the creeks, the glaciers, the politics, and the economy of the country. Finally, after going through the inclement weather of the Himalayas, we made it to the Everest base camp(~5300m) on 29/Nov/2021 and to the Kalapatthar(~5545m) on 30/Nov/2021 early morning. What a sigh of relief it was, we made it without any injury or any kind of high altitude sickness. All this was accomplished because of the proper planning from the company and affable coordination of @Suman and @Ramesh. Safely we made it back to the Kathmandu hotel from Gorekshep in 3 days. The overall experience was pleasant. I am glad to thank “Exciting Nepal” and its team of @Subash, @Suman, and @Ramesh for this memorable experience, that I will relish all my life. Hope to see you again :) :) …BhaaratWe set out on the 3rd Sep 19 , me my son and 3 friends and our guide Basu. We set out on the 3rd Sep 19 , me my son and 3 friends and our guide Basu. Our aircraft left Kathmandu late as the clouds were low , we arrived at Lukla 30 mins after take off and wow that is a small landing strip😬. The days were long and tough and one of our party had to be airlifted back from pheriche, due to ams. We finally reached base camp on the 10th September 19 and we were all very emotional, this would not have been possible without the amazing knowledge of Basu from Exciting Nepal tours, the guy was an inspiration to us all. When we got back to Lukla we were stranded for 6 day due to the weather but Basu never let anything get him down and kept our moral up ( even though he’s wife gave birth to their first child while we were stranded). I honestly can’t pay the man enough compliments and wish him the best of luck 🙏I went with Sagar all the way to EBC. The experience was incredible. Wow. Where to start. This trip was life changing and it would not have been possible without Subash, Basu, and the whole team at Exciting Nepal. Thank you. The quick version for busy travelers: Exciting Nepal makes Nepal adventure dreams come true. Their guide Basu is one of the best I've ever had and along with our porters Singman and Ngima we had a team that literally lifted our spirits and felt like a family - critical vibes for what is a physically and mentally taxing adventure near to the top of the world. If EBC is on your list (or really anywhere in Nepal is including ABC), Exciting Nepal needs to be who you book with and Basu needs to be your guide. A bit longer: First, if you're reading this review and have any hesitation booking with a local agency - put that aside. Exciting Nepal is special. Subash and his team are world class and exceeded our expectations on every front from on the ground excellence, to safety and attentiveness. They are constantly working the trails and have a dynamic network to get the best real time information. They also have great relationships with the helicopter companies for immediate rescue and extraction - so you always know you're safe and have the option should you ever need it. But what's travel without heart and story? That's where our guide Basu led our small group with energy, passion, professionalism and unique domain knowledge up and down the trail that only comes with 10 years of experience leading trekkers across the country. Basu is everything a mountain guide should be. He's constantly making sure his group is learning and having a good time - while simultaneously making sure everyone is safe and optimally healthy. His sense of optimism is contagious. He knows when to gently push people to achieve their goals and when to protect health and well-being. He is trained in helicopter rescue, so he is a trusted resource for literally every part of the EBC experience. The love and respect that teahouse owners and other guides show him on the trail is testament to his character, his energy and leadership style. I'd be remiss if I didn't also mention our porters - the sometimes silent heroes of any Nepal adventure. Our porters Singman and Ngima matched the energy and positivity of Basu and made the difference every day as we trekked to higher and higher altitudes. I always felt cared for - but more importantly, I always felt the energy and guidance from Basu and team to overcome any obstacle and achieve my dream. My thanks to Basu, Subash and team cannot be overstated. And I'm excited for you, TripAdvisor reader and potential future EBC trekker, to experience what I experienced with Exciting Nepal. Book with them and go already! :)What a great experience. Very good exercise. The views are incredible. My guide, Sasi was awesome. Very knowledgeable and genuinely cared.
