Stop At: Cocoa Journey, Brussels 1000 Belgium
Taste and discover chocolate like never before!
You’ll start at the Grand Place, “the most beautiful square in Europe, ” as Victor Hugo, author of the famous Les Miserables, once said. After hearing interesting facts about the beautiful Place, you’ll get right onto tasting!
You’ll first taste mouth-watering chocolate at one of Belgium’s most renowned chocolatiers, who was also the first chef to bring the macaron to Belgium. Through each degustation, you’ll be guided by a passionate chocolate expert who will explain how to taste each chocolate, and how to tell the difference between the best — and the rest.
But it doesn’t stop there! Next you’ll stroll to the beautiful Renaissance-style Galeries Royales Saint-Hubert with its luxury designer shops as well as theatres and cafes. It’s there where you’ll discover delicately exquisite chocolate from a World Pastry Champion — too good to have just one!
After the Galeries Royales Saint-Hubert, you’ll be guided to taste your next set of delicious award-winning chocolates from one of the world’s most creative chocolatiers, and with clear explanations, you’ll soon start grasping what makes each chocolatier and chocolate unique.
Throughout the tour, you’ll get to ask whatever chocolate questions you’d like, as your passionate chocolate guide has been trained as a chocolatier, and has had many years working in the chocolate sector!
To complete your mouth-watering chocolate discovery tour, you’ll amble down to the historical Sablon area, where you’ll get to taste another set of chocolate, extremely different from one another, but also extremely delicious!
By the end of the tour, your gourmet appetite should be satisfied after relishing 12 different chocolates from the best chocolatiers in Belgium and the world, as well as your intellectual curiosity, having uncovered the secrets of the bean-to-bar process... Come taste and discover for yourself!
(Please note that in August, one of the chocolatiers is closed, but you'll still be tasting 12 exceptional chocolates from amazing (and award-winning!) artisan chocolatiers in total :)

We had a fantastic tour with Cathy. She is the real deal, so knowledgeable in the world of chocolate from it's process to exactly how to taste it, what to look for and which is really the best of the best. We were two mothers and two teenage/tween daughters and we had a great time trying the artisanal chocolate that we walked to in the town and were full to the brim at the end. It was a perfect length walk, perfect chocolate flavors and really a great selection of delicious and different pieces that were different and delicious! I, myself, am still dreaming of the orange blossom!! Cathy is a great, friendly, knowledgeable guide that we would highly recommend to anyone visiting Brussels and looking to get immersed in their chocolate world. It was great!!Run don’t walk to this walking tour. The guide Cathy will march you right past the tourist traps and take you into the shops with the best tasting bonbons. Run don’t walk to this walking tour. The guide Cathy will march you right past the tourist traps and take you into the shops with the best tasting bonbons. There she’ll select the most unique offerings. She’ll also explain how to really enjoy the expensive stuff so it’s worth your money. This was a totally different experience than I’ve had on prior food tours where it seems like the guide is a recent transplant to the area who was hired because he or she speaks many languages. This is an ideal way to experience the best of Brussels.“A unique and delicious experience. I've lived in Brussels for 7 years and eaten tons of chocolate, but this was a voyage of discovery. Cathy's knowledge and passion opened up a new way of experiencing chocolate, and the city.”

Cathy is an expert when it comes to chocolate and it's easy to tell right from the start. She takes you around the city showing you the best chocolatiers and how to properly taste good chocolate. She truly leads you through an experience as you place the chocolate in your mouth. She is very knowledgable and kind as well! My girlfriend and I had a great time hanging out with her. I would definitely recommend this tour!As a long-time resident of Belgium, this tour took us to some of the lesser-known chocolate shops in the central Brussels area -- all within easy walking distance from Central Station. As a long-time resident of Belgium, this tour took us to some of the lesser-known chocolate shops in the central Brussels area -- all within easy walking distance from Central Station. Cathy's selections for the many tastings were sometimes unusual and evocatively-described -- while we were actually enjoying them, she was describing what we were experiencing (even though she wasn't enjoying the chocolates herself at that time -- but obviously had before...). All in all it was an interesting & informative tour & a worthwhile couple of hours spent among other appreciative chocoholics -- very yummy too!
