What to expect
1. Meet at the central exit of JR Omori Station at 10:30 am. Look for someone with a bag with the "homecoming TAKA" logo on it. 8 minutes walk to my house. On the way, you will pass by a shrine and walk through a quiet residential area.
2. When we arrive at my house, I will explain today's program. Origami → making udon noodles → making Japanese food (sushi, dumplings, etc.) → matcha green tea → souvenir calligraphy colored paper
3. First, origami. Fold the paper crane.
4. After that, make udon noodles. Enjoy the process from materials to completion. You step on the material.
5. We will make sushi and gyoza together as the main menu for lunch. As an experience of Japanese cuisine, it will be the main course of the day. In addition, my wife serves some Japanese small plates.
6. Enjoy conversation and enjoy a leisurely lunch. All materials are made in Japan. Drinks too. Beer, sake, shochu and soft drinks are free. Drink, eat and have a blast!
7. After dinner, make matcha together. Taste matcha with local Japanese sweets.
8. Finally, Keiko will write the visitor's name in calligraphy on colored paper and take it home as a souvenir.
9. It's a regrettable time. My husband and I are easily moved to tears. We will send you off to JR Omori Station, hoping to see you again next time.

Of all my time in Japan this summer this was by far the best experience my daughter and I had. Taka and Keiko were amazing hosts. Taka Met us at the station and walked us to his house which is in a lovely neighbourhood. Keiko Met us at the door and the minute you walk in you can feel the welcoming , kind and a genuine nature from them both. Conversation was so easy and both of their English was excellent! Keiko taught us Origami, then Taka thought us how to make udon noodles while listening to YMCA. It was a blast! Lol. We then made sushi, and tempura and sat down together and ate the most delicious lunch. So filling in fact we ate very little the rest of the day. We had matcha and did calligraphy with Taka and Keiko after lunch. The conversation flowed and we learnt so much about them both. We left feeling as though we have made lifelong friends. I cannot stress enough that this is a must do activity while in Tokyo. You will not be disappointed and I promise you will leave having had a fun day full of learning, laughs and leaving having met two wonderful new friendsI chose to do this activity on my birthday and it was so much fun!
