Just 40 minutes from Baltimore on Cape Clear Ferries - a beautiful quiet island. You can sit inside or up on the deck and take in the view. The boat arrives in the sheltered north harbour. If you don't want to walk there are electric taxis which can take you around. It is very hilly. There's a small cafe in the north harbour and a pub, Cotters towards south harbour. Cotters has a lovely south facing garden and also does food. You'll get a warm welcome in both. Take a walk to the inland sea water lake and see the Fastnet rock in the distance. It's about a 20 minute walk from the harbour. There are no buses and the phone/internet is patchy so don't expect to call a taxi from a remote part of the island. Take a visit to the goat farm. There is also a gin distillery (closed when I visited). Not a huge amount to do except enjoy the peace and quiet and the views. Very few vehicles of any kind.
