After being picked up at the station, we got coverals. The advice was to wear warm coats, but I would suggest to wear a sweater and leave your coat in the car, as it can be hot if you are not used to climbing over rocks. After a beautiful walk through the forest, with nice information about the surroundings and the wildlife, the decent into the ice cave begins. The guide leads the way through the dark cave, over patches of ice and rocks, between beatiful ice stalagmites and stalactites. With warnings and guidance, we got to a ice plain in the cave. It was an extremely cool trip for us.An amazing trip filled with not just thrills and exploring, but with so much history of the area of Mt. Fuji! This is so worth it just for the adventure alone! Our guide was so much fun! You have to try this once in a life time experience!

This trip was the highlight of our vacation to Japan. The Aokigahara Forest was a beautiful sight to behold in the winter and the ice cave exploration was amazing. Our guide Tadasuke was the best. He speaks fluent english and explained everything to us. The tour was super personal as it was only my husband and myself. That day. We also lucked out as it was a beautiful +16C day and we also got to see Mount Fuji. We highly recommend this tour for anyone who wants to truly remember Japan. Thanks Tadasuke! We had a fantastic time exploring the ice cave and walking through the forest with our guide, Tada. He was careful to ensure that we were never in any danger despite the tricky terrain. He was patient and had many entertaining stories, as the forest was his playground. Logistics-wise, everything went perfectly too. We were offered hotel pick up and drop off, and all gear was provided. We only needed a good jacket to keep us warm and good trekking shoes that were waterproof.
