This trip was way better than I expected. My wife and I wanted to learn about Asian elephants and witness them in their habitat. This experience offers that… well in part. It is a tourist attraction, so there are some things that feel a bit touristy and forced, but most of the program is built around the natural rhythm of the elephants. First you have to make the food you are going to feed them, which explains their diet and just how much an average elephant consumes, then you feed them. Here the elephants come to you and leave on their own volition (which is pretty much after they have eaten what you prepared… which is pretty quick). There is enough time for photos here too which is pretty nice. Then they are free to roam the 10 acre plantation in search of food. You can follow them out there and there is a lot of space. Again they are fed for the tourists and you can be a part of it, but they are free to roam and everything is on their terms which was a plus for us. The last part of the interaction with the elephants was the mud bath and pool (two separate activities, with different elephants participating in each). I get that this is part of their routine in the wild, but this was the bit that felt a little forced for me. The bulk of the people we shared the afternoon with loved it. They also make sure the tourists are free from sunscreen and fly spray by making them shower before they get close. Again the elephants were “free” to stay as long or as short as they want. They left when they had enough, which was lovely. The staff were brilliant and really cared for the animals. It was exceptional value for money and they offered a free video of the visit at the end as they had their own videographer film the event. And edit it before we left. They also provided a fantastic lunch and plenty of refreshments.Absolutely amazing day! We had the chance to find more about authentic life of Koh Samui and we warmly recommend it to anyone who’s looking for more than sand, sea and sun. We are going home with more information to pass to others and beautiful memories to take with us for a lifetime.

Ethical elephant park. We enjoyed our visit and I’d say this is a very professional tourist experience. I felt that the elephants were well cared for and that their keepers did care about them. The activities they do are mostly feeding and bathing. Ensure you clean yourself from mosquito spray etc because this can harm the elephants. We did not do the bathing but that was because I did not think it was that enjoyable for the elephants but they seemed happy enough.
