Extra Small-Group Glacier Walk in Skaftafell National Park
Overview
On this extra small group Glacier Walk, we visit one of Vatnajökull's many outlet glaciers in Skaftafell National Park.
Before heading to the glacier, you will meet your expert glacier guide at our Skaftafell Base Camp, located on the campsite of Skaftafell National Park. Your guide will provide you with all necessary gear for the glacier walk, an ice axe, harness, and a helmet.
When everyone is ready, we head to the glacier where your guide will safely lead the group through an icy wonderland with deep crevasses, narrow ridges, and other ice formations.
We will have up to two hours to explore the glacier, giving us plenty of time to take pictures and make memories that will last a lifetime.

What to expect
This is a typical itinerary for this product
Stop At: Skaftafell National Park, Vatnajokull National Park 785 Iceland
The tour departs from our Skaftafell Base Camp, right on the Skaftafell campsite next to the visitor center.
20 minutes prior to departure, you will meet your experienced glacier guide, who will gear the group up with crampons, ice axes and harnesses.
When everyone is ready, you will take our glacier bus up to the glacier for an amazing adventure.
Duration: 20 minutes
Stop At: Falljökull, 785, Iceland
We head to the glacier on our Glacier Bus. After a few minute's drive from our Skaftafell Base Camp, there is a short hike up to the roots of the glacier.
After a short introduction on how to use the glacier gear, we step onto the glacier and into a frozen wonderland. The guide will lead the group through deep crevasses and majestic ice ridges. With about 2 hours on the glacier, we have plenty of time to take pictures and make memories.
After the wonderful adventure, we head back to our Skaftafell Base Camp.

Eine sehr schöne Tour auf den Gletscher in kleiner Gruppe mit dem Guide Brook (Icelandic Mountain Guides) Anfang Februar 2022. Brook erklärt viel und nimmt sich Zeit damit man die Stimmung auf dem Gletscher genießen kann. Wegen starkem Wind wurde der Tourverlauf angepasst, so konnten wir dennoch einen tollen Tag auf dem Gletscher verbringen und viel sehen. Im Winter erscheint der Gletscher in seiner schönsten blauen Farbe. Sehr empfehlenswert für jeden Island Besuch!
